Home description
This fabulous beachfront penthouse is situated on the edge of historic Speightstown, which was once the main port of Barbados. This is the Barbados of old - Caribbean colour and life is all around you. There is a small road that runs between the penthouse and a beautiful powdery white sand beach. This is the old coastal road and leads you directly into Speightstown. This beach is ideal for swimming, snorkelling etc. , and 2 minute stroll northwards brings you to Heywood beach which stretches for approximately 1 mile.
This is an idyllic romantic get away. Sip a refreshing drink on the penthouse terrace, whilst the cooling Caribbean breezes soothe your soul, and gaze over the aquamarine Caribbean Sea .
Inside the penthouse is cool and airy; marble floors and high cathedral ceilings with air conditioning throughout make for the ideal retreat from the hot Caribbean sun. Tasteful, tropical furnishings complete the feel.
Barbados is famous for it's incredible sunsets and the view from the penthouse terrace is stunning. Should you wish to stroll into Speightstown it's centre lies but 2/3 minutes away, here you will find all that you need to complete your stay. All in all the perfect self-catering, beachfront, retreat.

The St Peter Parish region
No matter what your tastes there is something for everyone on the beautiful island of Barbados. It's very easy to get around independently, either on public transport (a trip on a reggae bus is an absolute must), or if you decide to hire a car. Whatever, there is so much to see and do that one visit to Barbados will not be enough.
There are lots of historic sights, preserved sugar plantations and colonial buildings, nature areas, such as Animal Flower Cave, the amazing Harrison's Cave, beautiful stunning scenery along the rugged East Coast and of course the fabulous white sandy beaches that Barbados is famous for.
If you decide not to hire a car - a trip on a local reggae bus will cost you $1.50 bds. (around 70p) for any length of journey - try it just for the experience.
Speightstown area
The property is located on the edge of historic Speightstown. During the week you can see Caribbean life as it has been for hundreds of years, the fishermen bringing in the days catch, to be sold later at Speightstown fish market, the colourfully dressed ladies selling exotic fresh fruit and vegetables at the side of the main street, the general hustle and bustle of a busy Caribbean town.
All amenities are within a 2/3 minute walk, including: banks, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars, internet access etc. The local pub 'The Fisherman's Pub' has live music every Wednesday, where a cool, Bank's beer awaits.
The area is blessed with a beautiful white sandy beach, known as Heywoods, some of the best swimming, diving (including night dives with the fabulous Reefers and Wreckers) and snorkeling in the area.
Nearby Holetown with it's many shops and restaurants is located just a 15 minute drive away. Many popular sights are within easy reach including, the rugged and breathtaking east coast, a surfers paradise. In short something for everyone.
