Thistle Lodge is our "Executive" high quality Self Catering Accommodation, here at The Great Glen Lodges, Kilfinnan. Situated in a wonderful, Spectacular, Scenic Location in the heart of The Great Glen and Lochaber, the centre for Out Door Activities in Great Britain.
To the rear Ben Tee, one of the many Mountains over 3000ft in the area rises steeply and is ideal for walking and climbing
Thistle Lodge is our two storey Full Log south facing Timber 4 Berth lodge with "Breath Taking" Views of Loch Lochy and the Mountain Range beyond. On site purpose built Loch Side Access with Free Fishing on the shores of Loch Lochy just a minutes walk from the lodge. The Perfect Retreat to Explore the Scottish Highlands.
Comprising of a fully glazed Entrance Lobby, Quality Furnished Front Room with 32" Flat Screen Wall mounted TV with Sky, DVD Player, CD/Radio, a stunning floor to ceiling fully glazed Observatory/Conservatory/Dining Area over looking Loch Lochy and the Mountain range beyond.. A Fully Equipped Kitchen with Breakfast Bar, Electirc Double Oven/Grill, Dish Washer, Washing Machine, Four Drawer Freezer and Fridge, Bread Maker, Coffee Machine. A down stairs Bathroom with Power Shower over Bath.
Up Stairs comprises of One spacious Double Bed Room with wall mounted Hair Dryer and One spacious Twin Bedroom with TV/DVD Player and walk in wardrobe. A "Z" Bed can be added for a 5th person by pre-arrangement at an extra cost of £15:00 Per Night, Please Advise us when completing an Enquiry?
To the side of Thistle Lodge is a decked Area with Out Side Seating over looking the Loch and Mountains with BBQ facilities. There is also a secure shed to the side to store Bikes/Canoes.
Each Guest is supplied with One Bath Towel & One Hand Towel.
Thistle Lodge has on site private parking to the rear of the lodge.
We like to meet our guests on arrival and escort you to your lodge, arrival is from 4pm and departure is by 10am unless otherwise arranged. Late arrivals, the key is left in the door and we meet our guests the next day.
Cot, Bedding & High Chair can be hired at £20:00, Please advise us when making the reservation.
There is an onsite laundry comprising of a commercial sized washing machine and a coin operated tumble dryer.
Although we do not have Wi Fi there is a mobile signal for most providers and for G3 connection or please use a Dongle with a Lap Top
2 Well behaved Pets are Welcome, please advise us at the time of booking? They must never be left unattended in the lodge and must be on a lead whilst on site and in the vicinity of the farm. All fouling must be picked up and disposed in the bin provided. Dog Fee £20:00 Per Week or £5:00 Per Night for each Pet
Groceries can be ordered from the Local Store and delivered to your lodge in the day of your arrival.

The Scottish Highlands region
Thistle Lodge is situated on The Great Glen Way, the famous walk from Fort William to Inverness or visa versa.
The area is very popular with walkers, climbers, cyclists and photographers to name but a few.
The main water sports centre is located just three and half miles away, here you can participate in white water rafting, river rafting, safari, canyoning, gorge walking, kayaking, rock climbing and abseiling, mountain biking and more!
Purpose built Loch Side access is only available for our private guests with Free Fishing from the shores of Loch Lochy. Small boats and caonoes can also be launched from here. A Fishing Ghillie Service is available for our guests and Fishing Equipment can be hired.
Fishing Permits for surrounding rivers and lochs and for Salmon Fishing can also be arranged
The lodges site and surrounding area have an abundance of visiting birds and wild life, Golden Eagles, Osprey, Sea Eagles, Buzzards, Red Deer, Seka Deer to name but a few.
But even more exciting, we are very fortunate to have a family of resident Pine Martens, Britains second most rarest mammal, they visit the feeding station on each of the veranda's to find their favourite treat of Peanut Butter, Jam or even a raw egg. They are here through out the day but are much more active during the early to late evening.
The nearest shop that sells just about everything is 3 miles away, nearest fuel station 3 and half miles away.
The nearest pub in walking distant is The Eagle Inn on the Water, a floating Dutch Barge this is seasonal, open from February to end October.
The Invergarry Castle Hotel serving excellent traditional Scottish food with a traditional Scottish welcome is only 3 and half miles as is the Invergarry Hotel, also serving excellent Highland Fayre.
Further north 10 miles, is Fort Augustus, a small village but very popular with tourists, bursting with shops, hotels, restaurants, not to mention the opportunity to watch the boats go through the loch system into Loch Ness.
Further north is Drumnadrochit, 30 miles, Inverness. 47 miles.
Heading south from the lodges is Spean Bridge, 12 miles, 2 Hotels, a restuarant,
Anoch Mor, 15 miles, excellent Ski Centre and the famous Down Hill World Mountain Bike Championships is held here.
On to Fort William, 26 miles from the lodges, here is the base of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Great Britain, 4406 ft!
Fort William is a busy town, with an abundance of Hotels, Restuarants, Large Super Markets and a variety of shops.

"Peaceful and beautiful"
Thistle Lodge is a very comfortable place to stay if you want a break in the Highlands. It has all the home comforts, Freesat,washer,cooker,microwave,iron,bread maker,hi-fi etc. and it has the most wonderful views over Loch Lochy. The owners,Ian and Claire are lovely and will do anything to make your holiday enjoyable.

We loved having you to stay and it was always so nice to hear how "Happy" you were with the jolly sounds of laughter heard on a daily basis, it was infectious and made us feel elated to!
