The lodges site and surrounding area have an abundance of visiting birds and wild life, Golden Eagles, Osprey, Sea Eagles, Buzzards, Red Deer, Seka Deer to name but a few.
But even more exciting, we are very fortunate to have a family of resident Pine Martens, Britains second most rarest mammal, they visit the feeding station on each of the veranda's to find their favourite treat of Peanut Butter, Jam or even a raw egg. They are here through out the day but are much more active during the early to late evening.
The nearest shop that sells just about everything is 3 miles away, nearest fuel station 3 and half miles away.
The nearest pub in walking distant is The Eagle Inn on the Water, a floating Dutch Barge this is seasonal, open from February to end October.
The Invergarry Castle Hotel serving excellent traditional Scottish food with a traditional Scottish welcome is only 3 and half miles as is the Invergarry Hotel, also serving excellent Highland Fayre.
Further north 10 miles, is Fort Augustus, a small village but very popular with tourists, bursting with shops, hotels, restaurants, not to mention the opportunity to watch the boats go through the loch system into Loch Ness.
Further north is Drumnadrochit, 30 miles, Inverness. 47 miles.
Heading south from the lodges is Spean Bridge, 12 miles, 2 Hotels, a restuarant,
Anoch Mor, 15 miles, excellent Ski Centre and the famous Down Hill World Mountain Bike Championships is held here.
On to Fort William, 26 miles from the lodges, here is the base of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Great Britain, 4406 ft!

"A Real Gem"
Stayed with two boys and husband at Great Glen Lodges. Absolutely fabulous location, exactly as we had seen on the internet. Ian and Claire are lovely hosts and have some really good excursion tips, make sure you take the "road to nowhere" it is amazing. The lodge was spotlessly clean when we arrived, even in the cutlery drawer!! Everything has been thought of even loo roll and washing up liquid. We shall be back....

"Peace, Perfect Scenery and Excellent Accomodation"
This was a haven of sheer delight, the scenery was beyond expectations, as was the accommodation and amenities available to us. The Lodge was perfectly positioned overlooking the Loch and we were constantly entertained by the wild life that visited us at all times of the day. the owners were also excellent in managing the property and were equally there if we needed them but also left us to enjoy our holiday. The owners also had a great knowledge of the area and were able to point us in the direction of natural areas of beauty and where we could find all sorts of wildlife to film. Our party consisted of six people, 3 males and 3 females and everyone of us enjoyed every minute of our holiday, we will certainly return either together or separately as there was so much more that we did not get a chance to do or see, even in two weeks.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a rewarding and positive review of your stay here with us in Bracken Lodge.

It was a sheer pleasure to meet you and your family and would love to see you again sometime in the future.

Thank you so very much for a wonderful review all the way from Russia!
