The Black Sea Coast region

South Eastern Bulgaria, has a warm climate during the summer months comparable to many Mediterranean regions and has a similar culture and cuisine to both Greece and Turkey due to its locality. Istanbul itself being only a 3 hour drive from the area.

Sozopol

Sozopol is situated in south eastern Bulgaria, 2 hours drive from the Turkish and Greek borders. The town itself is the oldest town on the Black Sea coast and dates back to 600BC.

Sozopol unlike other Black Sea resorts has something for everyone, it has the new town with ts bars, shops and restaurants and the old town with its quaint streets and original Bulgarian architecture.

Just last year archeologists unearthed some skeletons of suspected vampires, and has since attracted extra interest. There is also an arts and music festival in September which is also very popular.

There is also a market located close to the old town with many stalls and a harbour area.
