The East Anglia / Suffolk region

Incorporating the ancient kingdom of East Anglia, the East of England covers the history-rich county of Suffolk, a region where tradition is a way of life, eccentric customs are commonplace and people take the time to offer the warmest of welcomes.
Suffolk is a great place for a break any time of the year, and just the place for a family beach holiday. There are countless activities to amaze and keep the kids amused whatever the weather. You decide what you want from a steam train journey, to some fast laps on a go cart track . The area boasts a huge collection or art galleries, museums, historical buildings, wildlife parks, craft centres, antique shops in addition to specialist visitor attractions and sports facilities.
Something for everyone to do
The Southwold area
There are a wealth of things to do in and around Southwold, here are a few of the more popular activities and past-times:
Coastal Voyager at the harbour offer a range of boat trips from their high speed "Blast" around Solebay to their gentle cruise up the River Blyth to Blythburgh and back and the 3 hour cruise to Scroby Sands to visit the seals and see the wind farm close up.
The Electric Picture Palace in Southwold shows a wide range of films in a tiny (66 seat) cinema. The Electric Picture Palace is rather special and no visit to Southwold is complete without paying it a visit! You could also treat yourself to an aromatherapy massage at Southwold Therapies.
Throughout the year there are races and competitions of the Southwold Model Yacht Club, the most impressive of these being the Southwold Model Yacht Regatta. Walberswick Cycle Hire have a range of bicycles for hire by the hour, day or week. A bicycle is an ideal way to explore the Suffolk Coast. The Blythweb Calendar is regularly updated and has details of all kinds of events in the area.
The New Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth has a great range of music, drama and films throughout the year.
Halesworth Golf Club offers a wide range of top class facilities and welcomes golfers of all abilities.
