House | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Briar Cottage is a gorgeous chalet-style cottage at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac in Reydon. Within walking distance of Southwold, it is a perfect retreat for couples or families. Its open-plan modern kitchen/dining area is balanced perfectly by a cosy traditional sitting-room with an open fire, a cute reading nook and a small playroom to keep kids happy. Guests have commented on how deceptively spacious it is with space for everyone to do their own thing.
The bedrooms are upstairs - one double and one twin (with cot should you need one).
The front garden is a perfect place to sit and unwind after a day on the beach and the back garden is enclosed and suitable for children. One small dog would be welcome, please ask. Reydon Recreation Ground in the lane behind the cottage is perfect for morning runs, has a playground and some outside gym equipment for the old and young alike. The cottage is also perfectly situated for walks in Reydon Smear.

"Lovely family-friendly cottage but with awful access"
The cottage was very welcoming - as a family with very small children, we were realy pleased that there were games and toys, a playroom, dvds etc all for children, and thoughtful touches such as plug … More
Thanks for your comments regarding Briar Cottage and we're really glad you enjoyed your stay. It is indeed our second family home and we are delighted that other people get to enjoy it too.
I'm very sorry you had trouble with parking. I have now included photos of the lane and access to our parking spot. It's not something that we've ever had a problem with ourselves. It is indeed on an unadapted road and all residents take care to maintain it. We actually love it the way it is as it's so pretty and gives the impression of being very 'country' eventhough we have great neighbours and near services.
There are passing points on the lane and another exit lane two doors down from the cottage as well as a whole car park space to reverse into just outside the wall (I hope this is clear from the photographs). It very well may be that it is not suited to sports cars and so potential guests should definitely take your advice but I would disagree with it being 'awful access'! I (shamefully) only passed my test last year and have never had a problem getting in or out. We drive a family estate car.
The cottage has earned three stars from Visit England and as part of their assessment I had to complete a disabled access report and we passed.
There is also on-street parking on the streets at the end of both access lanes but if any potential guests are concerned, then please don't hesitate to contact me to have a chat about it.
Many thanks for your comments and I am very glad you enjoyed staying at Briar Cottage.
