"Adequate but dissappointing"
Adequate but disappointing accommodation that failed to meet expectations compared to past experiences of self- catering. Many of the fittings, utensils and equipment are quite tired and dated. The … More
Our cottage has charm, character and appeal due to its age (16th century) so will not always be to everyone's taste but has a recently fitted kitchen and bathroom, hence a combination of old and modern. The downstairs living accomodation is spacious as are the two double bedrooms. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children aged 7, 4 and 1yr). We often stay there with one set of grandparents, 7 of us in total, and we have never felt cramped so simply do not agree that the cottage is suitable for only 4 adults! Our children love the attic room and call it their den. We do not agree that the stairs are unsuitable for young children.
We wish you would have told us about the toilet during your stay as we could have arranged our plumber to come and look at it whilst you were there as it simply needed a new syphon which has since been replaced.
We agree that the location is very good, within a pretty village and with easy access to the coast. The local pubs also serve very good food.

"Thoroughly enjoyed our week...""
“We had a great week. Clean, tidy, and beautifully situated to enjoy what we think is the very best of Suffolk – Southwold, Walberswick, and all the lovely villages round about. The woodburner is a crowd-pleaser and the cottage itself is cosy but spacious. The owners were friendly, attentive and easy to deal with. Highly recommended.”

"Lovely cottage-terrible bed!"
Cottage is in Wenhaston not Southwold-about 15mins from the coast.Terrible matress-like trying to sleep on a ploughed field and several inches too short for the bed.Only managed to sleep by using a do… More
Thank you for your feedback, the mattress simply needed turning, as they do from time to time. I'm sorry we hadn't noticed this before your visit.
There was a problem with the water pressure which was addressed after your stay.
I don't understand your comments about the bowls as there are several bowls in the unlocked kitchen cupboards.
I am at a loss to understand why you thought the cottage was in Southwold when it clearly states it is in Wenhaston and is 5 miles from Southwold.
I also note that you neglect to mention the very large dark stain which you left on the cream carpet at the bottom of the stairs which had to be professionally cleaned. Furthermore, as you failed to inform us about it, it could not be professionally cleaned in time before the next guests arrived.
