The East Anglia region
North Norfolk is a special place and a wonderful place to explore on holiday. So many visitors who come here, fall in love with the coast and countryside, the friendliness and the pace of life that they, like me, return here to live. We have sandy beaches, unique salt marshes, waterways, rolling countryside with panoramic views.
Coach Cottage and Southrepps is perfectly situated to take advantage of all the attractions to the West and those, lesser known, to the East, The delightful villages, magnificent churches and seaside offer a wealth of attractions, events and activities - somethig for everyone.
Southrepps, being in the east of the UK is sheltered from the Atlantic and has one of the lowest rainfalls in the country. Being a few km / 3 miles inland from the East Anglian coast, it is also sheltered from the colder north and east winds. Only 4 miles from the coastal village of Mundesley or 5 miles from the town of Cromer with its Victorian Pier, Coach Cottage offers easy access to the many sandy beaches.
Walking around Southrepps, one can see the rural heritage. The countryside has a mix of small woods and hedgerows, Outside the house is a rookery and the sound and sight of birds is part of the joy of North Norfolk. In the nearby Southrepps Common, a site of scientific interest and nature reserve, there is a large variety of nesting birds such as Reed Warblers, Reed Bunting, and Sedge Warbler. The woodland areas are habitat of such birds as Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Barn Owl and Tawny Owl.
The past wealth of the village of Southrepps is evident in the size and majesty of St James Church that dominants the sky and is visible from the Lounge and garden. In August, Southrepps hosts its celebrated music festival and there are many other concerts at other times of the year in the church or other local churches, such as Trunch & Mundesley.
Life in the Southrepps and the nearby villages is colourful. Throughout the year there are markets, festivals and events to enjoy. The Vernon Arms pub hosts real ale events. The nearby towns of Cromer, North Walsham and Sheringham have theatres and cinemas. The Norfolk Broads offer fun on the water, hiring a day boat taking a picnic hamper is a popular activity. Whilst the magnificent city of Norwich (22 miles away) with its two cathedrals offers everything one can ask for, all in a very compact space.

"A perfect holiday home, a true home from home"
“A lovely holiday home, a real home from home. Everything you could possibly want / need is provided, such attention to detail is thought of. Mundesley beach is great, along with skate park which kids loved as we brought scooters with us. Small Arcade too. We visited Davenports Magic show, great for all ages, as well as BeWilderwood. Cromer pier – great for crabbing. Muckleburgh military collection was enjoyed by the boys. A great time had by all. Thank you.”
I am delighted that you found Coach Cottage a "perfect holiday home". We make every effort to ensure our guests feel at home. Southrepps is well located for so many of our amazing local activities - Muckleburgh, BeWilderwood, Mundesley beach / skate park - I do hope you return to explore the many others wonderful places North Norfolk has to offer. And when you do visit North Norfolk again, I do hope you consider staying at Coach Cottage, we'd love to have you back. Thank you for posting a review.

"A wonderful place to stay"
I can't recommend Coach Cottage highly enough. Everything you could need (and more) was there. The owner is very helpful and has also provided lots of information about places to visit, eat, etc. One of our party was disabled and once again the facilities provided were exactly what was needed. A lovely village setting and very relaxing. We were also able to take our dog and found dog bowls and towels had been provided. The welcome pack was excellent - and included a little something for our dog!
Thank you for your kind review of Coach Cottage. I am delighted that you found the cottage a wonderful place to stay and that the mobility equipment in the cottage proved its worth, enabling your whole party to enjoy Coach Cottage and the lovely village of Southrepps. As dog lovers we know how good it is to be able to go away with your "best friend". Southrepps, and North Norfolk as a whole, is a great place to holiday with a dog - so many dog friendly cafes, hotels, pubs especially in the villages and wonderful beach and rural walks. Should you ever venture this way again, we'd be very pleased to welcome you again. Once again, thank you for coming to Coach Cottage.

"Coach Cottage is friendly and welcoming with a high standard of accommodation."
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coach Cottage this week. Kathryn has been so helpful and friendly and we felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. The cottage’s facilities have been excellent – lots of space for our party of 5 adults and one child of 12 years. Southrepps is a lovely friendly village. We enjoyed a great meal at the Vernon Arms, and the local walks have been beautiful. We would have no hesitation in recommending Coach Cottage to friends and we may be back at some time in the future ourselves.”

"A delightful home from home"
Another delightful week – only now need to stay here in summer & autumn to have seen four seasons here. Good walks along the beach even in gale force winds. Once again thanks for making this delightful property – a real home from home. So comfy that leaving is a misery. Friends visited again, many lovely meals cooked and enjoyed. Billy enjoyed his treats, as did we. Excellent chinese from Mundesley. We will be back to enjoy the remaining two seasons.
Thank you for giving feedback on your second visit to Coach Cottage. I am delighted that your return visit was so enjoyable in spite of the recent cold winds. We'd be delighted to see you again and, if I may offer additional temptation to return, the hot sultry weather in summer and early autumn are quite glorious whether one ventures to the beach, explores the local paths and cycle routes, or just relaxes in the garden.

"A Comfortable Home from Home"
We stayed here over Christmas and had a lovely time. The owner made sure we had everything we needed, even putting up a tree and decorations for us. The property was without question the cleanest holiday rental we have ever stayed in. There are nice walks around the friendly village and surrounding area. Local shop for essentials, pub and a large Waitrose about 4 miles away, what more could you need? We will be back!

Guest feedback is invaluable, it "keeps us on our toes", provides excellent suggestions on how to make our guests' stay more enjoyable and gives prospective guests a great feel for what Coach Cottage offers.

"Fantastic , Fabulous Cottage"
Arrived at this beautiful cottage and was blown away. Absolutely perfect place to stay. I am very fussy but could not believe how lovely it was. Well equipped cottage and SO clean and tidy. Everything was in full working order and it even had fresh flowers in the rooms. Full instructions on everything in a file - everything has had fantastic attention to detail. Its also in a fabulous location - we went cycling, walking, swimming, crabbing & go-karting. The owner is a lovely lady too and showed us around. AMAZING PLACE - please go and stay you will not be disappointed! We will definitely stay again. Julie Blyth
Thank you so much for such lovely feedback. I am over the moon that you enjoyed the cottage so much and took the trouble of submitting a review to TripAdvisor. I'd be delighted to see you again. Once again, thank you.

"Exactly what we wanted. Ideal for our requirements."
We are a family group of 5 adults, two couples and a single. The accommodation of 3 bedrooms with bathrooms was ideal. One of our party has mobility difficulties so everything on one floor suited. The property is relatively new and great thought has been given to the facilities included. We were especially impressed with the quality of the beds which is a detail that is often scrimped upon. Parking was convenient. The owner was helpful suggesting options for meals out. The local pub serves great food but is often booked out. They recommended pubs to eat in neighbouring villages. Every place we ate was fabulous. I would have given a 10/10 except, I did miss WiFi. I'm informed WiFi is now provided. Perfect.
Feedback on how to improve Coach Cottage is most helpful. So shortly after your departure wifi was indeed installed which also means that the HD TV now benefits from BBC iPlayer. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. I hope you will consider staying at Coach Cottage again.
