About the home

The property is a double fronted semi-detached house. It consists of a lounge, garden room, large kitchen diner and toilet on the ground floor, with a large family bathroom, 3 double bedrooms and a nursery on the first floor. There are gardens to the front and rear, fully enclosed to ensure small children are safe, and parking at the side of the property for 2-3 cars.

One of the property owners, Eva, has had her own successful pub and then restaurant in the past, and been head chef in both. Eva therefore offers an additional unique service of providing home cooked meals 'take-away style' delivered to the house on request. Menu and prices can be viewed in the house, or if you require a meal prepared for the day of arrival, please contact us and we'll forward the details by email.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
We have catered for children and babies, including a stair gate, fireguard, cot, changing table, baby monitor, bibs; and toys, children's books and DVDs. However we are aware that not everyone has children so these facilities are tucked away in the nursery out of sight for those holiday makers without children. There are also books, games, jigsaws, CDs and DVDs for adults.

For pets, we can provide a dog bed and feeding bowls, waste bags, towel for muddy paws and you will also receive a Pet Welcome Basket.

Further details outdoors:
Front and back gardens are enclosed. The south facing back garden captures the sun all afternoon, and is completely private and secure. Double gates into the back garden provide space for a further car off the driveway and out of sight if this is preferred. The garden contains grass with flower borders, and a patio area with external seating and a BBQ.

The Northern England / Merseyside region

Southport is a seaside town on the border of Merseyside and Lancashire. It is less than an hours drive away from Preston, Blackpool, Liverpool, Manchester and Chester, and 1.5 hours drive from the Lake District, Peak District and North Wales. So it is a great central location to visit the whole of the North West and all it has to offer.

Liverpool offers great shopping and nightlife, the ferry across the Mersey, Aintree racecourse and 2 football clubs - Liverpool and Everton. Also for The Beatles fans there is the Cavern Club and Beatles museum. Blackpool has the famous Blackpool Tower and Pleasure Beach fairground attractions. Manchester has fantastic shopping with the Arndale centre and the Trafford centre, as well as 2 famous football clubs - Manchester United and Manchester City. It also has the gay village and several arenas for sports and pop concerts. Chester is a beautifully preserved ancient walled city, well worth a visit. The area also boasts a great choice of museums and art galleries.

Then of course the Lake District, Peak District and North Wales provide beautiful countryside for those wanting to do some hiking.

The region also hosts a number of famous annual events such as The Grand National at Aintree Racecourse, Southport Flower Show, Manchester Gay Pride, and the Mersey River Festival to name a few.

The Southport area

Southport is a classic Victorian town by the sea. There are attractions for all the family, including the beach, the promenade and the second longest pier in the UK. It also boasts world class golf courses including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, and the Hesketh. The town centre provides shopping along stylish Lord Street, as well as great restaurants and good nightlife.

Attractions include the Marine Lake,Crazy Golf, Go Karting, Pitch and Put, Lakeside Miniature Railway, Pleasureland, Vue Cinema, 2 Theatres, Ten Pin Bowling, Municipal Tennis Courts and Municipal Golf Course. Out of the town centre there is the Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Formby Point with coast, pinewoods and sand dunes, Antony Gormleys extraordinary installation 'Another Place' on Crosby beach and Farmer Ted's farm park and education centre, great for kids.

There are also superb annual events that occur throughout the year, such as:

- Southport Food and Drink Festival
- Various International Golf Championships

Nearest airports are Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester, each approx 30 miles / 48 km - 45 minutes drive and are serviced by all major international airlines.

Southport has its own train station which is well connected to the national rail network via Manchester or Liverpool.

“exceptionally clean and very well equipped” this house was truly a home from home. Your every need was catered for.Plenty of space for the bigger family or group. Well located to local amneities. Welcome pack on arrival a nice touch. Loved the tourist box with area attractions and places to visit. I would definatley stay again..........but not in March as weather was unseasonally cold and visiting from Australia weather was a bit of a culture shock.

“This house is immaculate in every way” Eva's house is a pleasure to stay in. It is very well-appointed and equipped, scrupulously clean with a homely atmosphere. Sue and Eva have thought of every comfort and are very welcoming. Having run a self-catering myself for 13 years in Cornwall, I have a particularly critical eye but I cannot fault this house - in fact, Sue and Eva could have taught me a thing or two! So many places regrettably will not take dogs but they are both welcomed and very well catered for at Eva's house. Our golden retriever loved it there! I would recommend this house unreservedly and hope to return in the future.

“A real home from home with lovely extra touches” Stayed with my husband for a 3 day break and facilities were excellent and everything had been thought of. A friendly meet and greet service and the welcome pack surpassed anything we have ever had elsewhere - it is usually very basic. Lots of extra little touches which were very thoughtful and really make the difference. Will definitely be back, hopefully for a longer break next time.

“Home from Home” Fantastic house that supplied all you could need, even a baby monitor was in the house. Definately like a home from home and felt very comfortable in this house. Ideal location for the town centre with good transport links. Stayed here with my 3 year old daughter and my parents and found it to have everything we could possibly need. And the beds were so comfortable. Would definately use this house in the future. Heidi

“everything needed for a home from home extended stay” Midwinter is not the best time to spend in a north England coastal resort in very cold weather, but the accommodation is extremely comfortable and a pleasure to spend time relaxing. We're glad we chose Eva's rather than any apartment because it was spacious and allowed for entertaining family and friends. The fully equiped kitchen and dining area served well for entertaining. I would certainly consider booking Eva's on my next trip.

“Great property, designed and equipt with tender loving care” I stayed in Eva's house with my partner, my mum and my 9 month old baby. We loved the house and were especially impressed with the attention to detail that the owners have put into making the property a 'home from home' The nursery had everything that you could ever need for a baby to feel at home as did the rest of the house! After a 6 hour drive from Dorset the welcome pack of wine, pasta, HOME MADE SCONES and other goodies was such a lovely surprise..... there was even a welcome pack for the dog! The house is a nice 15 minute stroll into town and only a few minutes walk from a huge supermarket. The images on the website dont do the house justice, it is even nicer than it looks. There was no 'scrabble' for the best bedroom as all three rooms are lovely (my partner and I couldn't choose the best one). I would definatly suggest that if you are heading to Southport you give Eva's house a try.

“A superbly appointed property with a wonderful welcome” We were thrilled with the facilities at Eva's House and the wonderful welcome we all received...something for everyone from our 2 dogs to the youngest 5 month old grandchild.We enjoyed a home from home experience at Eva's House with extra touches which made a superb weekend break for us all.

“home away from home” The house in on the corner of two streets and altough you expect to hear some car noise inside, you dont hear it. A big 24 hour ASDA and the station are only a 5-10 min. walk away and when your at the station your also in the town center and a bit futher Lord street. Inside the house there is everything you need, toys for the kids (all ages), wifi, and a more than complete kitchen. The bathroom is big and clean with seperate bath and shower. The three bedrooms are all double size with good beds. It was very nice to stay there.

Rates above are based on 1-2 people using 1 bedroom only for the lower rate; and 3-6 people for the higher rate. Babies under 12 months old are free...please state in your enquiry.

We do not charge for pets, but please respect the property by keeping your pets clean from muddy paws, quiet, and do not allow them on the furniture. We also ask that the garden is not used as a dogs toilet - we provide an initial supply of waste bags for your convenience.

A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking, and full payment must be received 6 weeks prior to arrival.

Unfortunately we also need to ask for a security deposit of £200 to be received at least 5 working days before arrival, which will be refunded within 5 days of departure once the property has been checked. Full details will be sent within the Booking Contract.

We accept all major credit/debit card payments with a 3% fee via the internet, or payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer in GBP or Euros.
