About the home

A comfortable three bedroom house. Furnished with 1 king size bed, 1 double bed, a single bed and a single sofa bed. There is a TV and DVD player, two leather couches which seat up to 5 people, a dining table and 6 chairs in the lounge. The conservatory also has TV and cane seating. The outside decked area also has a table and seating for 6 people. Built-in fridge plus a second fridge and a freezer in the kitchen. Washing machine and dryer and portable clothes line are housed in the garage which is accessed via steps from the hall. The house is alarmed. Private road with parking for 2 cars. Wooden flooring throught except for the bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. They have tiled flooring.

The Northern England / Merseyside region

Southport is a classical seaside resort, ideal for exploring the many attractions nearby. Crosby beach with the Anthony Gormley statues is about a 20 minutes drive away. Formby with its Red Squirrels, Pine Woods and Sand Dunes are worth visiting. Churchtown is a quaint village roughly 2 miles from Southport. Martin Mere, Mere Sands Wood and the Hides at Marshside are worth visiting all year. Martin Mere has vast number of swans visiting during the winter months. Visiting there at feeding time is something to remember. The BBC have presented Autumn Watch from there several times. Lytham St Anne's and Blackpool are about an hours drive away. There are lots of walking, cycling and watersports in Southport, as well as cinemas, bowling, crazy golf, bowls, fun fair, swimming pool, model village. These are just a few of the attractions. Liverpool is around 20 miles away and has wonderful shopping areas. Liverpool ONE is superb and has walkways through to the Albert Dock and the New Liverpool Museum which opened July 2011. Ormskirk town is nearby and has a street market on Thursday and Saturday.

The Southport area

The Grand National is held in Aintree about 30 minutes drive from Southport. Red Rum the three times winner was trained on Southport beaches. There is a statue of him in Wayfarers Arcade just off Lord Street.
For Jazz lovers we have two festivals a year.
The Air Show and The Flower Show take place here every July / August. There are many golf courses including Royal Birkdale. It is a very good area for cycling and walking.
