No 25 Southbroom Avenue is ideally located in the upmarket peaceful resort of Southbroom on the Hibiscus Coast. Southbroom itself sits alongside the unspoilt beaches of the Indian Ocean and No 25 is just a 2 minute drive to the beach. Ideally situated for golfers, the popular Southbroom Golf Club with it's sub tropical vegetation and Indian Ocean views, is just 500 metres from the house. Other championship level golf courses are within the area.
Southbroom offers a tranquil and peaceful setting for parents to relax and those children who love to investigate the rock pools, surf, fish, explore the lagoon, the Bushbuck trail and Riverbend Crocodile Farm. There are 2 supermarkets and a bottle store together with a few restaurants and the livelier seaside resorts of Ramsgate and Margate just 10 and 15 minutes drive away. In the near vicinity is the Wild Coast Casino complex, horse riding, deep sea fishing, the stunning Oribi Gorge with its Wild Gorge swing at Lehrs falls (100m - the highest swing in the world)!

The Kwa Zulu Natal region
The KwaZulu Natal South Coast with almost 200km of beaches being havens for swimming, surfing, fishing and diving, with rugged untamed landscape perfect for hiking and 4x4 expeditions, the natural wonders of the area are immediately apparent along with wildlife sanctuaries, amazing 18-hole golf courses and culture laden arts and crafts unique to the South Coast and a temperate climate (average temp 24 degrees centigrate).
Southbroom area
As you pull off the main road at Southbroom North you relax into calm haven of Southbroom and it's sub tropical vegetation surroundings. Choose the pristine Main Beach, backed by the Imbezine lagoon which offers safe paddling for smaller children, or the wilder beach experience against the Frederika Nature Reserve offering perfect spots to tuck yourself away and explore rock pools or fish from the rocks. Further south is the Umkobi lagoon where birdlife abounds and you can enjoy the comfort of Trattoria La Terazza whilst taking in the views and sounds.
Golfers can test their skills on Southbroom's golf course, just a stone's throw from the Indian Ocean, offering beautiful views of beaches, sea and the relaxation of playing alongside the lush indigenous vegetation of the Frederika Nature Reserve. Follow it up with a relaxing beer at the clubhouse.
The tranquil Bushbuck Trail is an easy walk through indiginous flora and fauna with hope of spotting a duiker, whilst you can see the huge crocs or tiny hatchlings at Riverbend Crocodile Farm. There are tennis courts, bowls, and massage by Jeanne-Louise at the Medical Centre along with a Dr.
The Sardine Run is an experience to behold around the month of June. Billions of sardines cause an amazing spectacle as they travel up the coastline attracting a feeding frenzy of predators such as dolphins, whales, sharks and gannets in their hoards. Locals and tourists flock to see this amazing scene.
The two main restaurants in Southbroom are the Riptide at Main Beach, a kind beachside shack offerering decent and tasty food or the lagoonside Trattoria La Terrazza. Other restaurants open in the main season. A large variety of restaurants and bars are close by in Ramsgate and Margate some 10 and 15 minutes drive away.
Whilst Southbroom offers a supermarket and wine store more comprehensive shopping is at Ramsgate or Margate and at Shelly Beach and craft shops are dotted around the area.
How to get there
Nearest main airport is Durban - approx 1.1/4 hr drive. Nearest domestic airport is Margate - approx 15 minute drive. Budget airlines available from Johannesburg.
