The Cape Cod region
The New England / Massachusetts region
There are times when you need to escape. Forget your worries. Act like a kid again. Those times call for a trip to the Cape.
Each locale offers sun-splashed beaches and a laid-back attitude, yet all are unique in their own right.
Famous for its rolling dunes and gable-roofed, grey-shingled houses, Cape Cod is where you'll find outdoor activities and loads of fun family attractions.
Take the time to find yourself on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, where all that matters is what matters to you.
The Cape Cod / South Yarmouth area
The Cape Cod lies south of Boston on the East Coast of the United States.
In the mid-19th century Cape Cod became a popular summer vacation destination for wealthy families living in Boston and Providence. Today Cape Cod is the premier vacation resort in New England.
Cape Cod is the place for wide, sandy beaches with beautiful dunes, lighthouses, sea captains homes, fishing villages, seafood (particularly oysters, clams, and lobsters), cranberries, and numerous recreational opportunities.
Cape Cods beaches are considered among the best in the world, especially those along the Cape Cod National Seashore, a 40-mile stretch of unspoiled sandy beach in Outer Cape Cod. With 559.6 miles of unspoiled coastline, Cape Cod offers many beautiful sandy beaches for you to enjoy. Beaches on the Cape Cod Bay north side may have cooler water temperatures than the warmer waters of the south facing beaches of Nantucket Sound.
Cape Cod tests all public bathing beach waters. Monitoring results from previous seasons indicate exceptional water quality on Cape Cod, and the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches are part of the Blue Wave Campaign for quality.
Water sports are very popular on the Cape. Canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkelling, swimming - find the best way to make your perfect day! Perhaps, you will take a whale watching excursion, enjoy a few hours of beach combing, and go fishing by your own or on a chartered cruise.
Cape Cod is a unique place for nature lovers, bird-watchers, hikers and whale watchers, sailors and surf casters. In 1961 a significant portion of the east-facing Atlantic coast of Cape Cod was made part of the Cape Cod National Seashore by President John F. Kennedy. Large portions are open to the public.
Although the Cape experiences a tourist explosion each summer, Cape Cod is virtually a year-round resort. No matter the season, Cape Cod beaches can always be walked, the bike trails enjoyed, and golf courses played.
The geography of Cape Cod resembles a flexed arm that thrusts out into the Atlantic Ocean. It owes its origin to glaciers that were active in the area. Over time, these glacier deposits became reshaped by waves and nearby ocean currents. Cape Cod is divided into a number of different sections. Each section or town on the Cape has something unique about its natural beauty, the arts, history and recreational pursuits. The Cape is about 70 miles long and is often subdivided into six main regions: Upper-Cape, Mid-Cape, Lower-Cape, Outer-Cape and the Islands of Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket

"Great place for a big group"
This is a really big house with four normal-size bedrooms for two (one may be used for three) and one extra bedroom for one person. Also, there is a huge room and a very good dining room with a big table. Were a really big extended family and all fit there very comfortable. The location is just perfect. You can see ocean from your window! Regardless the beach is within 3 minutes walk the place appeared to be quite silent, but this could be because the season was just opening. A wonderful sea food restaurant Slipper is within 3 minutes walk and this affects your weight dramatically. All the facilities in the house worked good and Alex and Valentina were always ready to give us a help or advice. We do recommend this place and would like to rent it whenever we come back to Cape Cod again.

"Perfect Beach Place for summer and winter! Loved it!"
We spent one week at the end of August and one week in December in this beautiful house with the unbeatable location on the Nantucket Sound Sea View Beach. We love this House! It MORE than met our expectations. In reality the house is better than in the listing... Beds, linen, bath/beach towels- all new and very good quality. The kitchen is brand new, very well equipped, granite counter top - pleasure to cook! The house is VERY comfortable, spotlessly clean and location is just fantastic – one minute, and you are on the beach! The house is also close to very good restaurants and entertainment. We can highly recommend Skipper (just 5 min walk of the house), the Yarmouth House, and Captain Parker's pub. If you like to run swimming after wake up (even before breakfast!) in the blue, warm water, stroll along the shore, collect beautiful shells and enjoy morning sun - this house is for you! You don't need a car, you don't need to take umbrellas, beach chairs (which are provided by owner) etc. to the beach if you don't plan to spend there several hours. You can be back to YOUR house any minute... The house is conveniently located, very good start point for the daily trips. We went to Nantucket, Provincetown, the Cape Cod National Seashore, Whale-watching cruise, Pirate's Cove mini-golf, Zooquarium... Our stay in December was also very enjoyable. We went to the beach - sunny days, mild weather, birds, shells, beautiful sunsets... Our favorite restaurants were open and offered delicious meals. The fireplace, games, books, talks, cooking, shopping, antiquing (famous glass) - we were busy every day! But we found time to listen the MET opera at the historical Cape Cinema well known for the largest in the U.S. and one of only five murals Kent did in his lifetime. Also, we didn't miss the magical journey on the Polar Express! Alex and Val, you are very lucky to have a nice home like yours, and many thanks for sharing it! We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this BEACH House to anyone - you will have a fantastic time!

"Great vacation property on the beach"
We spent a week of summer 2012 vacation on Cape Code and we were really lucky to find this house. This place has everything you could think of and more. The best thing is, of course, the location. The house is just a crose a road from the beach. We carried all our beach staff with us. The house itself was very clean and had everything we needed: wireless internet, washer and drier, fully stocked kitchen, new linens and towels. The owners of the property are very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this property and we are definitely going to return there next summer.
