The Conkers is a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment adjoining our 18th Century Farmhouse. You can take in the stunning veiws from the victorian cast iron balcony.
Outside are two seating areas where you can enjoy the lovely gardens and views.The spacious lounge/kitchen area has magnificent original oak beams & log effect fire. On an evening after a long walk put your feet up and make the most of the 42" flat screen TV. The bedroom is beautifully presented with ajoining en-suite shower room. All rooms are tastefully furnished to make our guests stay special. In addition there is a separate boot room & laundry room with space for bikes.

Outside bootroom with washing machine & drying facilities. Plenty of secure off road parking. Two seperate outside seating areas to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. All linen and towels are provided. You will find a welcome pack and bottle of wine on your arrival. The Conkers is owner maintained.

There are many places of interest around Derbyshire, and plenty of history. Wingfield manor ( where Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner) is only a few minutes drive away. In the surrounding area you can visit Chatsworth House and Gardens, Haddon Hall and Gardens, Hardwick Hall and Gardens, Wingfield Manor, Crich Tramway Museum, John Smedley factory shop - Lea (famous for its knitwear), Matlock indoor swimming pool, Carsington Water – bird watching, walking, cycling, windsurfing, sailing and fishing, Tissington trail – cycling and walking, Matlock Bath – cable cars to The Heights of Abraham, Lea Rhododendron Gardens
The South Wingfield / Moorwood Moor area
The Conkers is situated in a lovely hamlet between Crich and South Wingfield. There are no shops, however there are village shops only a short drive away. There is a Pub/restaurant 2 minutes walk along the lane and several other eating pubs are only a few minutes drive away. If you enjoy walking we have many interesting walks and footpaths from the door and surrounding area.
The Conkers is a great place to use as a base to visit all of Derbyshires main attractions.

Approx 1 mile traffic lights. Turn left then immediate right signed Crich and South Wingfield B5035
Under arch bridge, over river into South Wingfield
Up hill in South Wingfield and round sharp left hand bend with high stonewall. Turn right after bend onto Innes Lane signed Moorwood Moor
Approx 1 mile you will see White Hart Pub on left – Chestnut Farm is 2nd house on right (3 storey farm house with iron gates).
