South Wingfield

The quiet village of Oakerthorpe, situated in the south of Derbyshire, has many pubs, and the walks on offer from the village move up the valley to reveal breathtaking views of the Derbyshire Dales. Just a short drive away is the bustling village of Alfreton, which has supermarkets, shops and a post office. The village of Crich is four miles away and was known as Cardale in the TV series Peak Practice. The National Tramway Museum is also situated in Crich. The village also boasts shops, pubs and fantastic walks. The popular town of Matlock is only eight miles away, on the edge of the Peak District. The town offers many attractions, such as the fantastic Gulliver's Kingdom, along with many shops, pubs and restaurants. The market town of Bakewell, the beautiful Chatsworth House, Hadden Hall and Carsington Water, which offers excellent watersports, are all nearby.
