This 2 bedroom/1 bathroom second floor apartment is located on the south side of Fernlea Road in the heart of Balham. The open-plan lounge/diner has an LCD TV, DVD player, two sofas(one a sofa bed) and a large expandable table with dining chairs for 6. Opposite the lounge the separate kitchen is extremely well equipped. Bedroom One has a double bed, Bedroom Two has two sets of single bunks and both rooms have ample wardrobe/storage space. The family bathroom has a high spec white suite consisting of toilet, sink, and full sized bath with shower over it. Larger families or groups could also rent Fernlea View 3 and/or Fernlea Garden 3, both just a few doors away or any of the Fernlea north side flats just across the street.

The South East England region

Where do you start trying to describe London's attractions? The history, the famous locations and buildings, the hundreds of activities to do, the thousands of shows and events on offer...

Even the 'highlights' depend on what takes your fancy. If you're a 'first timer' to London, of course you must see the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben), the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column, Downing Street, St Paul's, The Mall, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Harrods, the British Museum...

But where to stop? Take in a West End show? Of course. Do a cruise down the Thames? Perhaps. What about Madame Tussauds? The London Dungeon? The National Gallery? The Tate? The London Aquarium? London Zoo? Hyde Park? Greenwich? Hampton Court? HMS Belfast? Kew Gardens...

The fact is there are many sources of information on such things, from websites to Tourist Information, so we shall not even try and do justice to London in a paragraph or two here. It is quite simply one of the world's great cities, where you could spend weeks and still not feel you have seen everything worth seeing. It's all up to you, but one thing's for'll never be bored!

South West London

Balham, 'Gateway to the South' (as it is affectionately known, after an old Peter Sellers comedy) is 'south of the river'. More specifically it is in the South London borough of Wandsworth, near Clapham. Just like neighbouring Clapham before it, Balham has undergone a massive transformation over recent years. This area is one of THE places to live for London commuters, young families and indeed celebrities such as TV presenter Sarah Beeny, and TV chef Ainsley Harriot.

As well as all the coffee bars, shops and supermarkets you might expect, within a mile radius there are also excellent restaurants ranging from Italian to Nepalese, Thai to Persian, Portuguese to Moroccan and the popular 'Harrisons' (part-owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein). There are bars aplenty too, perhaps the best known being 'The Bedford'. Winner of the Evening Standard award for Best London Pub 2002, the 'Banana Cabaret' part of the Bedford is a famous live music and comedy venue that attracts big names week in week out. This is just round the corner from the apartment!

Tooting Common, Wandsworth Common and Clapham Common are all within walking distance. Nearby Tooting Common boasts the UK's largest open air swimming pool and has tennis courts, a children's playground and plenty of space for outdoor activities.

Balham Leisure Centre with its gym, exercise classes, indoor pool and squash courts is a 2 minute walk away.

Major attractions close-by include famous sporting venues like Wimbledon Tennis, Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium and Twickenham Ruby Stadium, as well as Kew Gardens and Richmond Upon Thames.

St. Georges Hospital is also nearby.

"Fantastic flat - exactly as described and great location."

This was a great flat with a great location. It is a five minute walk from the Balham Tube stop, with many restaurants and a grocery store also in walking distance.

The flat had been very recently renovated and was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed.

The reservation process was smooth and Julie was very helpful. Mike met us at the flat on the day of check-in and showed us everything we needed to know.

"The place was perfect for us, exactly as described."

This apartment was a wonderful experience for us. We stayed with our 4 young kids, and they were thrilled with the bunk beds. The apartment was immaculate, cleaner than any place I have stayed. The hosts were very responsive, and very warm and welcoming. Julie was easy to get hold of when we had a situation that needed addressing, and I couldn't ask for a better experience with both the accommodation and the hosts.
The location was excellent, a short walk to the Tube, along the way passing right by a large grocery store. There were unlimited restaurants within walking distance, so it was convenient to eat out on our way home each night. We would stay there again without a doubt!

We are grateful for you taking the time to give the first review our newly refurbished Fernlea View 4 apartment.
