The studio has dark brown oak wood flooring with a luxury deep pile bedside rug. There are two contemporary mirror bedside lamps. The fireplace is operated by remote control. There is also a central heating radiator in the room. The large 42" TV at the foot of the bed has DVD and CD player. The boxed canvas pictures above the kingsize bed gives the room a warm feel.
At the side of the wardrobe is a stationary box with loads of tourist attractions and information including maps, restaurants etc.
The room has a fridge with enough space to keep your snacks fresh. A sandwich toaster is also there to make those delicious cheese toasties. The toaster and kettle will give you a nice light breakfast in the mornings. The microwave can heat up those ready made meals or left overs. The dining table can seat up to 3 people.
The top of the range marble floor ensuite has a large square chrome shower giving you a powerful rain shower. There is also a heated chrome radiator to keep your clean towels warm. The mirror bathroom cabinet has plenty of space inside for all your toiletries. A iron board and hair dryer is also in the room.
Everything you need for your convenience is in the room.

Directly outside of the apartment there is a very large supermarket ( The Co operative Store) to purchase all your groceries and toiletries. They also make fresh bread and rolls which you can smell in the mornings when you wake up. They do a variety of delicious croissants and Danish pastries including cookies. You can also purchase your wine and alcohol drinks from there. They have many ready made meals at excellent prices.
Across the road from the apartment you have a few take away restaurants, they include a Chinese take away, a Indian take away or dine in, a kebab and chip shop. Next door there is a post office to purchase your stationary, purchase your day pass or oyster card and postage. There is also a friendly community wine bar where Bill will serve you a nice glass of wine or a pint of beer.
Other local amenities include a hairdressers, dry cleaners, laundry, phone shop. A few door down from the apartment is the bus stop that takes you to the station, (TOOTING BROADWAY - METRO/SUBWAY/UNDERGROUND) within minutes. Opposite the apartment is the bus stop where you get off when coming back to the apartment. Everything is sooooo soooooo convenient...!!!

London is known for its beautiful tourist attractions including the Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace. You also have the biggest wheel showing you the whole of the region. There is also one of the biggest clock in the world The Big Ben.
When evening comes there plenty of mouth watering restaurants serving the finest foods with different variations to suit almost everyone needs.

"Ideal accommodation and great value"
We stayed in the smaller of the 2 studio rooms for 3 days while visiting family nearby. It can sleep 3, in a double bed, and 1 single, and although small, it was comfortable, very clean, with its own private bathroom, plenty of storage, and lots of tourist information if you need it. The mini kitchen is amazing, incredibly well planned, with a good range of utensils to prepare a meal. In addition, Doreen provided all we needed to make our own breakfasts, eg: cereals, milk, bread, jams, butter, drinks, AND a bottle of wine too! We drove there, and had no problem parking in the side street close by. Although the address is on a busy road, the rooms are at the back, and it was quiet. This is excellent accommodation, superb value, and highly recommended for adults of any age. (The room is on the first floor, so stairs could be a problem for people with disabilities, and it might be a bit small for energetic young children!)

"Excellent "home base" for our London vacation!"
We were very pleased with our stay at Doreen's rental and really do not have any complaints or concerns. The service provided was excellent, we thought that the location was great and much more affordable than a rent in central London. The rental had all amenities that we needed and transportation to and from central London was very adequate. We have already recommended this rental to others.

"Excellent room and more than enough room for 3"
I stayed here while traveling with friends. The room itself was spacious and comfortable with a private entrance and bathroom. Doreen and her whole family were welcoming and went above and beyond meeting all our needs, even suggesting things to do since we were only in town for 2 days. Breakfast every day was had at the little cafe a few doors down (on the way to the bus stop) and was delicious and filling enough to set us up for a full morning of site seeing. The only caution I have is to make sure you know the bus schedule before you leave. We ended up waiting one night for the bus to bring us out to the apartment for quite a long time as they run more sporadically after hours.

"Excellent value studio apartment just outside London"
We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights from 31 August to 2 September and unlike the last reviewer we found this apartment to be exactly as advertised. The apartment was well decorated, clean and modern and had everything and more you would expect from a studio apartment including microwave, fridge, oven and 2 ring stove. We found the transport links to be excellent both during the day and in the evening we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a bus even late at night. The complementary breakfast was an unexpected surprise which was much appreciated. Overall we found this apartment to be excellent value for money much cheaper than staying in a central London hotel with the added benefits of having cooking facilities and a fridge.

"an excellent choice for staying in London"
The appartement is an excellent stay for a trip in London. We ware friendly welcomed and the description of the way was really good. You need 10minutes with the bus to the nearest underground station and then about 30minutes to the center. There is also a supermarket next to the appartement.
The room was a little bit too small for three girls, but really nice established - only the bed would need a new mattres ;-) The bathroom was big and also soap, shampoo were available. We were expecting that we don't have a kitchenette, but there was. Small but you could cook, make breakfast and toast - and Doreen also gave us milk, cereals, bananas and jam for our first breakfast - that was really nice of her.
At our last day we could let our luggage in the appartement until we had to go to the train. Because we went shopping in the near located PRIMARK we had a lot of heavy suitcases. The partner of Doreen gave us a baggage scale and also carried down our bags.
We we came back to London we would stay here again.

"Total misrepresentation of property by owner"
At the time I booked this property it was advertised as having air-conditioning, washer and dryer, kitchenette, daily maid service and being 5 star luxury. As a result of our complaints about misleading advertising both to the owner and to the company who offered the advertising - HolidayLettings.co.uk - the advertisement has now been changed. It is now more accurate as to A/C, washer, dryer and cleaning.
Issue 1. I booked this property because it stated it had air-conditioning. This is an essential for me because of health issues. Shortly after arrival - London was hit with a heat wave. I contacted the owner and asked her to turn on the air-conditioning. The owner then brought a tower fan to the room and tried to tell me that was what was called an air-conditioner in England.
Issue 2. I packed for a 28 day holiday based on the fact that there would be a washer and dryer in the accommodation. 22 days of this holiday were to be at that property. There was no washer and dryer. Instead there was a sign up stating that the owner would do washing for a fee depending on the amount of washing.
Issue 3 - Kitchenette is something I expect to be able to prepare meals and do dishes in when the owner states in her ad that there is kettle, toaster, two burners, microwave, fridge and states in letter to me that she has also bought an oven for the accommodation. When one cooks and eats they expect to be able to wash the dishes and pots and pans. This 'kitchenette' consisted of two shelves and an open cupboard. The appliances sat on the shelves (the oven was the size of a toaster oven), the fridge sat on the floor and one had to climb on a little step ladder to reach the cupboard. There was no sink. Instead we spent our time there having to wash ourselves - the dishes and pots and pan - and our clothing - all in the same little sink in the bathroom. Needless to say this is not a satisfactory situation.
Issue 3. Daily maid service. This was advertised. The first comments the owner made were that cleaning would be on Mondays and Thursdays. She then stated that most people did not want cleaning. We were told by them that all their past visitors has stayed for 2 or 3 nights only - one had stayed for 5 nights.
Issue 4. 5 Star Luxury. What a joke! Paint, pictures and decor do not make luxury although if you like art decco - it was well done. Luxury means comfort. Comfort was non-existent in this property.
Bed - this was advertised as king-sized. It was the worst bed to get in and out of that we have ever encountered. There was a 4" wide board as part of the frame on each side. No problem if there had been a decent mattress in it but there was an approximately 3 inch gap between the width of the mattress and the width of the bed and the top of the mattress was parallel or slightly lower than the top of the wood frame. Getting in meant sitting on the board and dropping into bed and getting out meant dragging oneself up over the boards as the mattress sunk down into the bed frame when anyone was on it. By the time we left both of my hips were black and blue with bruising from dragging myself up over the boards to get out.
Seating - there were three dining chairs to sit on for meals. To use them for any other purpose (to sit to use my computer or try and sit to watch television) it was necessary to take pillows from the bed to put at our backs as they were so uncomfortable.
There was a daybed tucked in a window alcove. I ended up sleeping in it quite comfortably the last few nights as I simply could not tolerate that bed frame any longer. Sitting on the daybed, however was another issue. When one sat on it the metal frame dug into the back of ones legs as once again the mattress was too thin and did not come up higher than the frame.
We dreaded coming back to this place in the evenings as there was no comfort at all unless you got into the bed and did not move.
The television was situated at the end of the bed above the Sky control box. The bedding was higher than the control box. In order to change the channel one had to sit up in bed and lean over the end of the bed to direct the control at the box - annoying to say the least.
Noise was another issue. We were told that this room had been a kitchen and they had changed it into a room with a bathroom. Because it had been a kitchen - the waste pipes were not adequate for a toilet so they had installed some kind of grinder system to break up everything coming from shower, sink and toilet so that it could go through the smaller pipe. Every time one ran water in the sink or flushed the toilet a grinding noise started. What joy! One or the other using the facilities in the night would start the thing grinding - even if the toilet was not flushed at that time - waking the other person up.
Frankly I would hesitate to give this place a three star rating. I would rate a Premier Inn a three star facility and their hotel rooms are bigger than this was, with comfort and have air-conditioning as advertised.
Issue 5 - Location. This is advertised as an hour into London by bus and tube. The bus stop is a two minute walk away and goes to the Tooting Broadway Station. The owner loans visitors a mobile phone so they can ' text to get bus time so they don't have to stand waiting'. Sounds good doesn't it? All was not as implied. It might be an hour into central London - returning is another story.
First of all - this accommodation is in zone 3 - so travel cards will cost more than if one stays in central London in zone 1 or 2. If Oyster cards are used it becomes even more expensive to go back and forth.
Secondly - although tube trains are excellent the bus service between Streatham Road and the tube station are another story. We had no problem getting the bus headed to the tube station. Returning by tube and walking to the nearest bus stop (once again only about 2 minutes from the tube station) we found that about 40% of the time a bus came in about 10 minutes. The other 60% of the time there was a wait of about a half hour and on the weekends it was absolute hell. We waited one Sunday evening for 65 minutes before a bus turned up. I spoke to a lot of people waiting for that 127 bus during the three weeks we were there and all said that the service on that bus was terrible and there were always long waits from about 6 PM on. Since we were usually coming back after that time - there were a lot of wasted hours spent at the bus stop.
If this sounds like one long complaint - let me stress that this is not the first time I have rented self-catering accommodations in London. I have rented flats for about a month at a time about 16 or 17 times since 1987.
I have rented properties without air conditioning only when it was April or early May or late September - even in December. Any time when there was a possibility of heat I rented an air-conditioned hotel room instead.
In every case in the past - the accommodations have been as advertised. This is the first time there has been a difference in what was being offered and what was actually in the accommodation.
Would I recommend this rental to a friend? No. Had I known this property was not as advertised - I would have stayed at an air-conditioned hotel out at Heathrow. It would have been an hour by tube into central London but I would have had comfort at the end of the day.
We rented this property from May 14/12 to June 5/12. Never again!
I am gobsmacked by such a lengthy and unkind review. I have had over 100 guest between this and other websites with 4* but predominantly 5* reviews with fantastic write-ups. I have consistently had over 90% bookings including returnees. Please don't let this ONE REAR bad review put you off. Please book to see for yourself, you will not be dissapointed like my other 99%.
