Located right opposite the lovely green space which is Clapham Common, this is a simply beautiful home. It affords great views of both the Common, and also the City of London from the top floor. Just ten minutes from Clapham Common Underground and Clapham Junction mainline station ensures guests are well connected with the rest of London too. With five bedrooms and four bathrooms it is spacious and perfect for a large family vacation.
Once through the front door, guests will find themselves in the rather grand lobby area with its high ceilings and high quality wooden floors. Walk through into the large and spacious kitchen/diner, incredibly modern in style with marble work tops and a marble topped breakfast bar - with two stools it is a great place for a light snack! There's a range cooker, a modern oven, coffee machine and American style fridge/freezer. This room provides everything guests could wish for and more.
Conveniently to the right is the dining room is a large conservatory extension housing an impressive dining table with room for at least ten guests. There are French style patio doors on both the dining room and kitchen side of this impressive room ensuring access to the private walled garden.
The garden is walled on three sides and boasts two large tables with chairs. There is a BBQ ensuring a great place for everyone to get together in the warmer months of the year to enjoy some alfresco dining.
Back in the house, through the kitchen is the walk through library which houses a great selection of books, impressive paintings and a fireplace. At the front of the property is the main living area which boasts another fireplace and reflects the owners' love of art. There is a grand sculpture in the room and stunning paintings adorning the walls. Seating for guests is provided by three luxurious armchairs and a huge designer sofa and an antique coffee table sits in the middle of the room.
The first floor is where you will find the remarkable master bedroom with its own walk in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. Huge south facing windows provide views of the common opposite as well as housing a comfortable window seat. There is a king sized bed, feature fireplace, small desk, an armchair, more great artwork and two bedside tables. Like the bedroom itself the en-suite is quite simply, massive. A jacuzzi bath sits in the middle of the room, a separate walk in shower, bidet, his/her marble topped basin, WC, fitted wardrobe and another feature fireplace completes this stylish and luxurious bathroom.
The second floor hosts a single bedroom with another en-suite bathroom. This room has a cot as well as a single bed and a miniature feature fireplace. The en-suite boasts a bath, shower, towel rail, basin and a WC.
The third floor of this remarkable family home is where you will find the family bathroom and two further double bedrooms. The first of which sits directly above the master so affords the same views of the common and again boasts a feature fireplace. There is a double bed, chaise longue - positioned next to the large windows, a red leather chair and a flat screen television for entertainment. A fitted wardrobe provides space for guests clothes and there is a bookcase and a small desk with chair for catching up on any work.
Next door - another delightful double bedroom. The room benefits from a north view overlooking all of London and hosts a double bed, fitted wardrobe and bedside tables. Like every room in this property it is finished to an impeccable standard and has yet another fireplace!
The family bathroom on this level provides everything you would expect. There is a walk in shower, bath, wash basin and a WC.
The fifth and final bedroom is to be found up on the fourth floor. The converted loft provides a great space in the form of yet another en-suite bedroom. This room has a small double bed and a single making it a great room for children. There's a sofa and armchair here as well. A French door leads out to a balcony where guests can literally enjoy the view for miles. Spot the Shard and many of London's other attractions to the North East. It is a great feature. Finally there is a small but highly functional en-suite with bath, shower, basin and WC.
A short ten minute walk from the property you will find Clapham High Street with its plethora of shops and places to eat. The common itself is the perfect public park to explore and get a breath of fresh air as well as to take in any of the local festivals or events which often take place there. In particular the house is in easy reach of Abbeville Village and Northcote Road with their quaint English appeal and array of boutique shops. For something special explore the weekend markets with snacks, meals, flowers and art.
For transportation there is a plethora of transport connections and bus routes totally at your disposition. A short walk in either direction will take you to the underground station Clapham Common with its northern line which whisks you straight into central London. Clapham Junction, also a short walk from the house is a mainline station which will take you to central London within minutes! For bus connections the numbers 137, 345, 49, 319 will all take you to Kensington and Chelsea within 15 minutes!

South West London
Clapham is a hub of activity, with a great range of restaurants, busy bars and cafes. On the high street, there is everything for an evening out, from steakhouses, to clubs, to independent cinemas, and many bars in between. Venn Street, near the Common, is a cobbled side street and home to Venn St Records, a quirky bar with a relaxed vibe and live music and restaurants with many different types of food.
Head to Clapham Common in the summer for a picnic or towards Clapham Junction there is another fantastic collection of eateries and drinking spots. Popular chains such as Vodka Revolutions doesn't take away from the many one-off bars in the area, and on Saturdays you'll find market stalls and antique markets to explore. Stroll along Northcote Road and you'll find many trendy bars and restaurants, including The Bank in a beautiful period building, and upmarket boutiques as well as gelato shops, delicatessens and many upmarket interior design shops.
Clapham is a popular area for those in their twenties and early thirties, as well as families, with many large Victorian townhouses and both Clapham and Wandsworth Commons nearby. The neighbourhood known as 'Between the Commons' is home to some lovely family homes. Nearby Clapham Junction is a large transport hub, with direct trains to Victoria and central London as well as to Gatwick Airport and other parts of the UK.
