With a private entrance, outdoor space and cosy gas fireplace this makes for a very comfortable 'home from home'

Just outside the apartment begin all of the bars, restaurants and shops of Balham's trendy town centre. Balham has a mixture of high street names such as Starbucks along with independent names such as Harrison's Restaurant and many charming boutiques and cafes. There is a large Sainsburys supermarket, the up scale supermarket Waitrose, independent Organic food shops and Hildreth Street Market. The Bedford Pub, which is THE central community hub of Balham with its popular live music and Banana Cabaret stand-up comedy club is conveniently right next door to the apartment!

On-street parking available; daily permits £5.50 each should be ordered through us at time of booking as we must obtain them from our local council office. Otherwise metered parking is available from 09:30 - 17:30 on Monday through Saturday (max 4 hrs).

Private Entrance.

The landscaped garden is accessed from the lounge via French doors, leading firstly on to a private decked area and then onto the beautiful communal garden with a further decked patio. There is a table and chairs with seating for 6, as well as two sun loungers, a shed and a BBQ.

The South East England region

Where do you start trying to describe London's attractions? The history, the famous locations and buildings, the hundreds of activities to do, the thousands of shows and events on offer...

Even the 'highlights' depend on what takes your fancy. If you're a 'first timer' to London, of course you must see the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben), the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column, Downing Street, St Paul's, The Mall, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Harrods, the British Museum...

But where to stop? Take in a West End show? Of course. Do a cruise down the Thames? Perhaps. What about Madame Tussauds? The London Dungeon? The National Gallery? The Tate? The London Aquarium? London Zoo? Hyde Park? Greenwich? Hampton Court? HMS Belfast? Kew Gardens...

The fact is there are many sources of information on such things, from websites to Tourist Information, so we shall not even try and do justice to London in a paragraph or two here. It is quite simply one of the world's great cities, where you could spend weeks and still not feel you have seen everything worth seeing. It's all up to you, but one thing's for'll never be bored!

South West London

Balham, 'Gateway to the South' (as it is affectionately known, after an old Peter Sellers comedy) is 'south of the river'. More specifically it is in the South London borough of Wandsworth, near Clapham. Just like neighbouring Clapham before it, Balham has undergone a massive transformation over recent years. This area is one of THE places to live for London commuters, young families and indeed celebrities such as TV presenter Sarah Beeny, and TV chef Ainsley Harriot.

As well as all the coffee bars, shops and supermarkets you might expect, within a mile radius there are also excellent restaurants ranging from Italian to Nepalese, Thai to Persian, Portuguese to Moroccan and the popular 'Harrisons' (part-owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein). There are bars aplenty too, perhaps the best known being 'The Bedford'. Winner of the Evening Standard award for Best London Pub 2002, the 'Banana Cabaret' part of the Bedford is a famous live music and comedy venue that attracts big names week in week out. This is just round the corner from the apartment!

Tooting Common, Wandsworth Common and Clapham Common are all within walking distance. Nearby Tooting Common boasts the UK's largest open air swimming pool and has tennis courts, a children's playground and plenty of space for outdoor activities.

Balham Leisure Centre with its gym, exercise classes, indoor pool and squash courts is a 2 minute walk away.

Major attractions close-by include famous sporting venues like Wimbledon Tennis, Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium and Twickenham Ruby Stadium, as well as Kew Gardens and Richmond Upon Thames.

St. Georges Hospital is also nearby.

"Its a nice, comfortable flat"

Fernlea garden 2 is a fully and nicely furnished flat. When we arrived we didnt need to go get anything it included all the appliances we need in the kitchen and for cleaning. It makes you feel like you are at home far from home.
The location is also close to central london via Victoria line.
There are also close coffee shops and restaurants just in case you didnt feel like going anywhere far.
And to be honest this is the first time for me to rent a flat via website because usually websites cant be trusted but this flat looks exactly like the pictures posted and contains everything there is in the description.Not to mention Mike was really kind and helpful when we called him to ask about electricity he was of great assistance and even came by himself to check if everything was okay.
I highly recommend you stay here it will be worth every penny!

""It was like a miracle" Fabulous property!!!"

Fortunately, like a miracle!!! A follow up call from Julie, Holiday Rentals London, at the right time, made our vacation “Fantastic”. Their properties are just fabulous. The one that we decided to stay was close…very close to the tube. It is in a safe area, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs. The apartment was very nice, clean, the closets were empty! The whole place was spacious and very comfortable, beautiful. They are very Professional!!! And they really care for you. They saved our vacations. Their properties are just like they are shown in the pictures, if that explain things better, also.
I think that we always take our chances because we do not know if these rentals are for real. We went on a vacation to England from March 8-18, 2013. I planned some kind of family reunion; I had been away 10 months working overseas. So, my mother, my aunt, who are in their 70s', were coming from Venezuela; my husband, who has both keens damagedn and my daughter 16, were coming from USA and me.
Honestly, BE CAREFUL! with other companies/rentals. Because one that unfortunately I had chosen, from so many requests was a fraud. I had explained very well, what I needed, to the person that I contacted, who was “REALLY NICE”(OF COURSE) on the phone. She said that it was closed to the tube, 2 beds, 2 bath, could sleep 5. Upon my arrival, the place was far from the tube, the apartment was 1 bed-1 bath, they converted the living room in another bedroom, sofa bed, and the fifth bed was a cushion on the floor. The apartment had long stairs that was very difficult for the elderly ones and my husband, the closets and drawers were half full with items from the person that owns the place, I guess?, there was only one roll of toilet paper, and next day they cut off the internet, there was not help or any assistance if you needed something, the key handler dissapered in 5 mins, the area had signs of “Marshall Law” and to add more I have not received so far, the deposit that they say they would return... I wish I could give more details about this company; right now I am fighting the charges, so I might write again later.
It was not a good start for a vacation. Then I called back Julie, and went to see some properties. I honestly recommend and trust them. Thank you, Julie and Mike. We had a great comfortable time staying at your property. I have no words how wonderful Holiday Rentals London is!!! B.P.
