South Uist

Otter Point chalet is situated on the shore of Loch Eynort on the East coast of South Uist, offering excellent views of Loch Eyenort and the surrounding hillsides. It is a renowned area for spotting all kinds of wildlife, including otters, seals, sea eagles and other birdlife.

The Chalet is on a peninsula, a piece of land that juts out into the sealoch. The penisula is a hundred yards or in length, fifty yards offshore at the end is a small island mostly covered by the incoming tide, seals bask there, at some times of the year a hundred seals can be easily counted in the loch. Mostly this land are is just used by anyone staying at the Chalet, and is a great place to wake up to. There is a seat just outside the chalet which is a lovely place to eat breakfast and listen to the seals singing and watch the seabirds.

Across the loch are hills, and behind the chalet are more hills, there is lots of scope for walking! Just a mile or two away are glorious white sand beaches.
