Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 3
The apartment is in the most prestigious area of historic Crystal Palace. The house is one of the oldest and most striking in the Crystal Palace area and can be seen in the impressionist painting of Pissarro (called Fox Hill). At the highest point in south London, the apartment has views over south London.
Leafy green walks are close by yet frequent trains take 15-25 min into the city centre for museums, clubs, and shows.
Crystal Palace park with its famous Victorian dinosaurs is 5 min walk. The park houses the National Sports Centre for tennis, swimming, squash etc.
Crystal Palace is popular with artists and has many excellent restaurants serving food from all over the world (Thai, Spanish, Indian, Chinese, French, Portuguese etc.).

"Excellent value for money"
Large studio room on first floor with TV, kitchenette. Our private bathroom, for our exclusive use, was located outside of room a few steps down on a semi-landing. - but do not let that put you off as we are of an age where we have to avail ourselves of these facilities during night and it was no problem! We watched woodpecker on oak tree outside the window of the studio whilst sipping our tea in our warm, sunny room. The floorboards were very creaky but this is to be expected in a house of its age. Spoilt for restaurants in the 'Crystal Palace Triangle' round the corner. We were able to use public transport to visit visit Dulwich (beautiful village, Dulwich Picture Gallery- Hockney exhibition) ; Greenwich (Fabulous Turner & The Sea exhibition and other cultural stuff plus wonderful views!); get to 'Town' (central London) to meet family and friends. We spent one whole day walking round Crystal Palace Park - first part of it looks a bit neglected then it opens up to a wonderful experience; I will say no more - see for yourself. I would certainly go back again to the apartment.

Not that far from the tourist attractions and quote, 'Great value for money'
We are glad when our guests have a good time. As the reviewer said, it is great value for money'. We are really not that far from the centre – the view from the end of the road is of St Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin and the new impressive Shard. Frequent trains take 15-25 min to reach the central stations. Crystal Palace itself has character and things to see such as the Victorian dinosaur park. It also has many great restaurants of all cuisine and, unlike many city centre restaurants that cater for tourists, they serve great food at a great price.
This review has helpful suggestions that we will act on. The internet was giving problems at that time due to a frayed cable but that has now been fixed by our provider. We are working on the tender loving care of our historic building and have already rebuilt walls, repaired the driveway and had a new roof. We continue to decorate but another coat of paint is due soon. Although the station is not far, please do not struggle up the hill with suitcases – your Travelcard will cover buses and they are very frequent (every minute or so) from outside the train station and one takes a few minutes to bring you to the end of our road. There is also a station taxi firm that can help with suitcases. We do send details about all this when our guests book.
