Fantastic spacious house set in the heart of a pine forest and right next to the golf course. The architecture is in keeping with the Landes traditions having half-timbered buildings with wood railings painted in typical local colours and red fluted tiles. You will feel as though you are one of the locals stepping into this traditional property.
With ample space within and an open plan lounge you can relax with all the family after enjoying the many activities available on the site and nearby. There is a large balcony or terrace off the lounge where you can enjoy the views over the golf course or have pre dinner drinks embracing the beautiful sunset. The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Landes region
This area is known as Côte d’Argent (silver coast), due to it being a 100km stretch of the Atlantic ocean hemmed by the beautiful white beaches offering a shimmering coastline. It is particularly famous for it's pine trees and the area is mainly managed for industrial purposes. the regions main source of economy is from businesses marketing in wood based manufacturing like foresty, saw mills, paper mills, furniture making etc.
The area is a conserved piece of land and an ideal location to get back to nature and 'renew your batteries'. There are various things for you to do including observing the wildlife, horse riding, canoeing, cycle trails and generally ambling around the forests and countryside. There are beautiful lakes and shimmering wetlands allowing full recuperation of the mind, body and soul.
Soustons area
The "Domaine du Golf de Pinsolle" lies in the heart of a pine forest, close to the golf course, salt-water lake and ponds. Soustons, to the south of the Landes, is situated in the midst of vast beaches of fine sand, large lakes and pine forests. Pinsolle golf course estate is next to the beach in an unspoilt natural setting.
Water sports: French Surfing and Canoeing school at the Soustons Base (inland lake). Horse-riding: "Prade Messanges" riding centre (12 km away). Golf: Pinsolle Club at Soustons beach, 9-hole par 36 - 2558 m course with driving range on the waterside, at the foot of the Residence. Tennis: In Port d'Albret, 16 courts approx. 6 km away (book in advance). Cycle paths: 35 km through the forest (starting from Rue de Maremne approx. 200 m away) leading to the beaches. Lake outings in small boats: - By boat: "Embarquement Immédiat" at the Rond Point du Lac. - Small boat hire at La Flotille. - Albret Mini-Port at the Port d'Albret Salt Lake at Soustons beach (electric miniature boats). Fishing: Enquire at the "Fédération des Landes pour la pêche en eau douce et la protection du milieu aquatique" (the Landes Federation for fresh-water fishing and protection of the aquatic environment). There are various activites for you to partake in including La Pointe des Vergnes (6 km) Landes pottery on the lakeside: a craft industry practised for several generations (the oldest in the region). - Messanges (approx.15 km away): Héron pottery, ceramic art, utilitarian pottery, stoneware and ceramics. - Magescq (10 km): objects made out of natural cork: baskets, tableware, photos of oak-cork stripping and, in front of the workshop, traditional resinated pine. - Léon and its glassworks (approx.18 km), close to the Tourist Office. - Labenne (25 km) and the “Pinède des singes” animal park, walks in the forest amidst macaques.
There are various festivals all year round: July/August: - The Landes Opera Festival: several operas are performed in Soustons. - "Courses Landaise" - games with "vachettes" (heifers) in the Soustons bullring. August: - Festival of Soustons: carousels and other activities in the town centre. - Flea markets in Soustons. - Dax Féria (28 km): festival lasting 6 days and 6 nights, with folk influences from all over the world, bandas music, bullfight shows and a grand firework display.
