Studio in Port el Kantaoui
Studio | No Bedrooms | sleeps 2
The studio is located in the best location of the four star resort Port el Kantaoui with the marina on one side of the studio and the sea on the other side. With breathtaking views and walking distance from the beach and the common pool, it is by far one of the most attractive locations of Tunisia. The studio is comfortably furnished including a plasma TV, air-conditioning, and much more. The resort caters to all ages and interests. It has two 18 hole golf courses; the sea course and the panorama course. The "Sea Course" extends from the beach to the hill and the "Panorama Course" starts from the hill and winds its way through the residential and hotel district of the Port El Kantaoui seaside resort. It also comprises an amusement park, a zoo, a animated fountain, tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, a diving school, water-sports, boat rentals and a number of restaurants, bars and cafes. The location is perfect for an active vacation as well as a relaxing vacation. Because of the location of the studio, everything is in walking distance, but it is also very peace full and quiet. Of course, there is no need to stay inside the resort. There are several modes of transport available right outside the resort's main entrance. The center of Sousse is only 10 minutes away, where you can find many interesting things to do. The medina (old city), has loads of shops that sell traditional items like tapestry, pottery, spices and herbs, and ofcourse jewellery and gold, but there are also a number of restaurants with local cuisine, typical Tunisian cafes and the grand mosque. The more modern part of the center offers a lot of other things to do, like shopping in one of the malls, taking a relaxing day in one of the thalasso spas, go clubbing in one of the numerous discotheques or just sit back and relax in one of the resto-lounges.

The Central Tunisia/The Sahel region
The Sahel region is the most popular region of Tunisia. It is well known for it's beautiful beaches, olive groves, warm people and many monuments. In every town you can find the medina, which is the old walled city. The traditional houses and buildings really give a feeling of the old traditional ways. One very well known monument in the area is the authentic roman amphitheater in El Djem, which is the exact same amphitheater as the one in Rome (it was build in the same period by the romans). Another one is the holy mosque of Uqba, in Kairouan, the holy city. In Kairouan you can also find the mosque of the three gates, a 9th century mosque which is a fine example of Islamic architecture. Besides the towns of el Djem of Kairouan, Monastir is also visit worthy. it has the breathtaking cliffs which oversee the mediterranean sea. It also has the Mausoleum of Bourguiba, which was build to honor the first president of Tunisia, Habib Bourguiba. The mausoleum is decorated with four carved domes, the one under which the tomb of the president is located is covered in gold, the other ones in green. Besides the monuments and beaches, the Sahel region is also known for its weather. It has high temperatures, accompanied by cooling seabreezes which makes it perfect beach weather during the day and nice weather to grab a drink during the night.
Sousse has been referred to as the Pearl of the Sahel since ancient times. From the 9th century onwards the Phoenicians, Byzantines, Arabs and Romans discovered the delights of this fertile spot and have left many ancient markings. The Medina (the old walled city) also has these antique roots. Even Tunisians favor Sousse as a get away destination, to enjoy the fine sandy beaches and the booming nightlife. The climate in the Sousse area is milder than the rest of the country because of the location in a large bay, which means less cold winters and, more importantly, nice warm, (but not to warm) summerdays. Because of the huge interest in the city by locals as well as tourists, commerce has increased rapidly. This is why Sousse is home to worldclas restaurants, loungebars, clubs and many thalasso spas.
