Aux Carottes Sauvages is a beautiful, converted 3 bedroom house in traditional Medoc style. Its tasteful combination of modern and traditional interiors provide a welcome change and a comfortable home from home.
The house is full of original character with many traditional features, such as large fire places in the living and dining rooms, wooden beams and high ceilings. This is enhanced by the recent renovation providing modern, high quality kitchen and bathroom facilities.
The large, open plan living and dining rooms are both light and airy and open out directly on to the sunny terrace. The surrounding large, wild garden receives sun throughout the day - ideal for sunbathing, dining and relaxing.
Sleeping accommodation is provided in two doubles (with king size beds) and one twin bedroom. All have lovely garden views, new beds, quality mattresses and tasteful furnishings, ensuring a restful stay for up to six people.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
The house is situated between the stunning beaches of the Cote d'Argent and the world-famous vineyards of the Medoc, providing endless oppurtunities for exploration, activity or total relaxation.
The fine sand beach, backed by dunes and vast pine forests is only a ten minute drive from the house. Watersports, including some of the best surfing in Europe, can be found here and in the nearby lakes and lagoons. With 200 km of trails for cycling and horse riding, activities are available for everyone.
Along the shore of the Gironde lie some of Bordeaux's finest vineyards, producing some of the world's most desirable red wines. Pauillac - a 30 minute drive away - provides the centre for wine tasting courses and tours of the dozens of nearby chateaux.
Cosmopolitan Bordeaux, with its excellent and diverse range of museums, restaurants, shopping and architecture offers a cultural and fun day out.
Further afield you can explore pre-historic cave paintings, spas, scenic villages and the rivers and valleys of the Dordogne.
Soulac / Talais area
Talais is a traditional french farming village where the nearest shop and bar can be found.
A 10 minute drive away is the closest resort, Soulac, built at the turn of the century in striking Art-Deco style, hosts lively restaurants, bars, shopping and markets.
Local activities include: - Excellent beaches nearby. - Wide range of watersports, including surfing, windsurfing, fishing and kayaking. - Excellent cycling and walking and horse riding, with a large local network of dedicated cycle paths along the lakes, the forests and the river. - Fantastic opportunities for wine and chateau touring in the Medoc, one of the most famous wine regions in the world. - Wide range of local markets. - A short drive to Bordeaux for the range of city attractions.
How to get there
- Fly to Bordeaux or La Rochelle (Bordeaux closest) - Hire a car from one of the many car hire companies at the airport - The cottage is a 1.5 hour (80km) drive from Bordeaux, or 1hr 45 minutes from La Rochelle - Cheap flights available from BA to Bordeaux or Ryan Air to La Rochelle.
