Home description
Our holiday home, with 4 double bedrooms sleeps eight, with one bathroom and one shower room, making it suitable for 2 families, and is situated seven kilometres from Souillac on an 18-hole golf course. We can offer our visitors a perfect balance, you can have a self-catering holiday or enjoy the restaurant at the Country Club or a combination of convenience and first class French cuisine.. There is a main heated swimming pool, children's play area, football goals, grassed play area, tennis courts and a driving range. All this within three to four minutes walk from our house. We also have, within 100 yards, our community pool.
The dining room opens onto a small patio and grassed, secluded garden with garden furniture where one can eat or relax outside. For those who want to keep in touch with the outside world, sky-television is available in several languages and also BBC1 You also have the opportunity to watch DVDs and listen to Cds. But above all you are surrounded by exciting and dramatic surroundings with all home comforts. Sheets and towels are provided.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Lot region
The medieval market town of Sarlat gives an ideal opportunity for browsing among the food stalls and sampling the finest cheeses and sausages. The pâtés are plenty and fine too! If you need something to wash it all down with, the Cahors area offers many opportunities to visit vineyards. If you want to get a taste of prehistoric life Grotto de Peche Merle about 3 km west of Caberets covers an area of 3 km of linked galleries in limestone formations. You will find fascinating prehistoric paintings on the walls. If this gives you a taste for caves, Gouffre de Padriac is a must. A most remarkable natural phenomenon. A short underground boat ride brings you to a "magic" cavern with a dome spanning 90 meters. One upon a time. the town of Rocamadour could even rival Lourdes. In the town itself is a monkey sanctuary and a birds of prey sanctuary.
Souillac area
For the keen canoeist, Dordogne offers every opportunity and a nearby lake is a good start for water-sports for the less adventurous. Rental of canoes and organized trips are available from a number of places. Everybody is catered for! The annual balloon race in Rocamadour in September is a wonderful local event.
How to get there
How to get there BY CAR
The A20 from Paris passes close to Souillac (Exit no 55). The journey takes about 4 hours. The distance from Calais is 800 kilometers all on the motorway. Some of the way is covered by toll.
BY TRAIN
From Gare Austerlitz in Paris to Souillac takes about 4 hours. (8 hours from St. Pancras, with a change in Paris). A TGV service runs from Lille to Brive which is a 20 minute drive from Souillac and travels much faster. If you travel by train, a local car rental firm is available.
BY AIR
The South West part of France is well served by air.
Toulouse, Limoges and Bergerac airports are all within 1½ hours drive. Toulouse and Limoges on the motorway and Bergerac on less fast roads. A new motorway is under construction, and new parts are continously being opened, whilst Carcassonne and Bordeaux airports are about 3 hours away. The low cost airlines are at present using the above airports. Car hire is easily available from major rental companies at all airports.
