Clothes washing is simple, with an automatic washing machine in the kitchen, a dedicated outdoor drying area and a tumbler dryer in a utility room.

We provide separate pool / beach towels, asking only that they are left washed for the next guests.

Further details outdoors

There is a delightful, fully walled inner courtyard just outside the inner front door with a 7' slate-bed pool table. There are also broad, covered terraces on two sides of the house. A barbecue is located just outside the kitchen.

All the bedrooms have either a private balcony, terrace or roof terrace.

The professionally designed, one-acre garden is largely laid to lovely soft lawns, with borders of lavender and many trees — cork oak, oranges, lemons, pomegranite and olive trees. The heated, outdoor swimming pool is PRIVATE.

The Costa del Sol region

The San Roque Club is situated in the majestic foothills of the Sierra Bermeja and offers the peaceful and languorous beauty associated with Andalucian culture and elegance. These qualities are reflected in the clubhouse and in the hotel buildings complex that is built around a beautiful old sherry bodega.

Inland lie the ancient towns of Castellar, Jimena & Ronda, whilst to the south is the majestic Rock of Gibraltar which, with its unusual cultural and historical heritage, offers a duty-free haven for shoppers, and fascinating day trips watching dolphins, observing the apes or visiting St Michael’s Caves. 40 minutes to the west is the long, sandy beach of Tarifa, a mecca for wind and kite surfers alike.

The San Roque Club comprises two championship golf courses which — home in 2005 to the Spanish Open, and often to the European PGA Tour final qualifying school — offer challenging golf for amateurs of all handicaps. Fast greens and daredevil drives are eclipsed only by the panoramic views of distant mountains, the sea, a deep gorge, or the area’s spectacular forest of ancient cork oak trees which are the very symbol of the club itself. The Par-72 Old Course, designed by Dave Thomas, is a tight, testing challenge in amongst mature trees and stealthily placed water features. The New Course, opened by Seve Ballesteros in 2003, offers wider fairways but more demanding greens.

Within a quarter hour drive, there are five more golf courses and the beaches of Alcaidesa or Sotogrande with its international, Hobie catamaran sailing school. Beaches are within a few miles, ranging from small coves to broad stretches with panoramic views of Gibraltar to the west, or Estepona to the east.

Restaurants and bars are a five minute walk away, ranging from local Spanish / Mediterranean cuisine to the resort's celebrated Japanese restaurant. Then, in the nearby village of Pueblo Nuevo, there is an excellent Argentinian restaurant, whilst the coastal towns of Torreguardiaro, Sotogrande and La Linea have a choice of seafood restaurants. Sotogrande offers bars, clubs and restaurants as do Marbella (45 minutes away) and Puerto Banus (30 minutes).

Opposite the villa is an Equestrian Centre, now the base for a number of topflight polo ponies and international dressage horses. It also provides lessons for beginner's, adult and child alike, and local hacks for more experienced riders.

The well-stocked Supercor supermarket is ten minutes away on the outskirts of Pueblo Nuevo. There are many retail outlets in nearby Estepona, Puerto Duquesa or Puerto Banus.

"Beautiful Villa, fantastic break !"

Beautifully presented and maintained. Everything you need from a practical perspective. Very helpful and accomodating owners. Spotlessly clean inside and out. Peaceful and relaxing. Great for kids, large garden for games etc, pool maintained daily by poolman. BBQ and outside seating for meals outside great. Great location by terrific golf club with excellent club house for a drink or meal out. Children (7 & 5) made very welcome. Excellent local facilities locally with supermarket a 5 minute drive, local town with normal amenities one would expect. Beaches a short drive too and Gibralter a 15 minute drive which is well worth a viist. Overall, a very relaxing time was had by all. Plenty to do should you choose or equally great hanging about at the villa.

"If they're happy, we're happy"

Our 18 year old - "fab to be so close to a great golf course - I got a hole in one so it must be good. Great practise range. Fantastic facilities". Our daughter 16 years old. "Lovely pool, great for relaxing and swimming, close to riding and not far from beach for sailing - marvellous holiday" . The villa is very well appointed, clean and easy to holiday in. If they're happy we're happy.... everyone had a great time. The weather was excellent and the location benefits from a gentle breeze so it never got too hot.

"A beautifully relaxing villa.....can't wait to return in 2013"

We stayed for the first time in Villa Flora in July 2012 with our young daughters (one of whom is in a wheelchair) together with parents. What really made it a perfect holiday for us was the riding stables a short walk away where all our daughters were able to ride - they enjoyed it immensely, the staff were wonderful. We have for the past 10 years or so holidayed in Portugal (in the 'Golden Triangle') but the past two or three years we found it was becoming incredibly expensive. In Soto you have the same choice of fabulous restaurants as Quinta Do Lago but at around 50% of the cost. The villa is beautiful and everything you could ever require is within a short drive away, it was perfect for our daughter in a wheelchair as she was able to whizz around the fabulous garden to her hearts content. We have booked to go return in July 2013 and I am sure there will be many more years after that. Thankyou Nigel and Nicola for letting us stay in your home.
