The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Sotogande is a very special place being away from the brashness of the "costas" yet near to the glamour of Marbela should you want it.
Virtually every sport is available locally and for the golf lover there are five course within 10 mins. drive ,ranging from the superb championship course at "Valderrama "to the more modest "La Canada". Only a short drive away up in the hills are the "white villages" and for the more adventureous North Africa is only half an hour away on the ferry.
Sotogrande area
The countryside is beautiful,whether you drive ,walk or cycle and no visit would be complete without a visit to Ronda. The beach is nearby and the port and marina are fascinating. Boats can be hired and there are various competitions that you can enter.
Polo is very big in this area and there is an excellent riding school and a chance to go for a hack up into the hills or along the beach It seems that every other day is a Saints day and there are a host of festivals For the really energetic try Kite flying ,or scuba diving.
