Home description

Completed in early 2007, this spacious four bedroom villa is positioned on the frontline Los Cortijos de la Reserva - a secure village community within Sotogrande of 80 luxury villas and townhouses, each one having its own unique architecture and design. The villa has uninterrupted views overlooking la Reserva golf course and the hills beyond; the 18th green is immediately below the garden. To complement the exacting standards of the development, the villa has been similarly interior designed and furnished to a luxurious level. All furniture, fittings and fixtures are of the highest quality including full air conditioning/heating, modern fully equipped kitchen, en-suite bathrooms to all bedrooms, fluffy towels & crisp sheets, laundry, Dolby surround sound 42” plasma TV, Sky TV, internet modem, snooker/pool table (converts from dining table) and a heated swimming pool with cover and removable safety fence. The villa is directly linked to 24 hour security.

This villa is located within SOTOGRANDE – a 5* luxury sporting estate for the golf enthusiast, riding enthusiast and all the family. Sotogrande is situated approx 20 minutes from Gibraltar and about half an hour south of Marbella. The estate stretches from the Mediterranean's sandy beaches back into the foothills, providing contrasting views of sea, rolling hills, cork forests and the green fairways of the various golf courses. No expense was spared in the creation of this purpose-built resort, one of the finest in the world - leafy villa suburbs, riverside properties, golf courses, country estates, shops, restaurants, and the marina, which forms the lively hub of Sotogrande. Sports enthusiasts can choose from tennis, cycling, fitness, polo, horseback riding and every water sport imaginable. Golfers in particular will enjoy Sotogrande with a choice 8 top rated courses including Valderamma (Europe No 1) and the new la Reserva on which the villa is located. Families are especially welcome here.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

Sotogrande is located approx 20 minutes drive up the coast from Gibraltar, one hour south of Malaga and about half an hour south of Marbella. Sotogrande is not typical Costa del Sol - it is a peaceful and private sporting & holiday estate at the high end of the market - no high rise apartment blocks, no all night nightclubs, no 'sausage & chips' eateries!
Whilst Sotoagrande is self contained for all you might need on your holiday, you may want to explore further afield. Sotogrande is near other well known cities in Andalusia. From here, take daytrips to Seville, Granada for the Alhambra, Rhonda, or Jerez, famous for its sherry Bodegas. Gibraltar with its duty free shopping, famous rock, monkeys and caves is only 20 minutes away. The shops, restaurants & nightlife of Marbella and Puerto Banus are only half an hour away.

Sotogrande / La Reserva area

About Los Cortijos de la Reserva

Finished in early 2007, Sotogrande SA has created a secure village community of 80 luxury villas and townhouses, each one having its own unique architecture and design. From the 24 hour manned reception, through the tree lined road and stunning flowers, this is very clearly a quiet and exclusive collection of homes following the traditions of the classic & charming style of Andalusia.

Los Cortijos de la Reserva is located just within the upper levels of Sotogrande, overlooking the new Cabel Robinson designed La Reserva golf course, parallel with Valderrama and just above the Sotogrande riding centre.

Within easy walking distance of the villa are:
• La Reserva golf course and club house which has all the facilities and amenities you would expect of a top level championship course. This villa overlooks the 18th green. 5 minute walk.
• The Sotogrande riding centre which has ponies, horses and activities to suit all ages and skill levels, plus the ever popular Ke bar/restaurant. 5 minute walk.
• Via the riding centre: The Sotogrande Hotel, shops and all day dining in the Mar y Sol commercial centre. 15 minute walk.

Within a short, easy and safe driving distance are the countless other facilities Sotogrande has to offer. These include:

For the sporting:
• GOLF – a choice of 8 courses plus a dedicated golf school. The prestigious Ryder Cup hosting Valderrama, the championship courses of San Roque (2), Real Club de Sotogrande and la Reserva (as above), the hilly Almenara, the rustic La Canada plus the only links course in Southern Spain, Alcadaisa. For more details, see www.sotogrande.com – ‘golf reservation centre’ or tel (00 34) 902 181836.
• TENNIS – two major tennis centres offering court booking, lessons and competitions for both ‘lawn’ tennis and the ever popular paddle tennis.
• RIDING – (as above) - The Sotogrande riding centre which has ponies, horses and activities to suit all ages and skill levels, plus the ever popular Ke bar/restaurant.
• POLO – now very much in the premier league of European polo centres, there are four distinct sets of polo fields which put on high quality low and medium handicap tournaments running from Easter, culminating in the prestigious high goal gold cup in August.
• ON THE WATER – at the extensive marina, Puerto Sotogrande, there is a wide range of boats, both power, sail and jetski available for charter for fun or fishing in the Mediterranean. Alternatively, coming inland, there is canoeing and dinghy sailing.

For leisure & relaxation:
• Elysium Spa – situated at the Almenera hotel and golf club, this luxurious spa offers every facility imaginable – pools, Turkish baths, steam rooms, sauna, gym, massage and treatments.
• Beaches – clean Mediterranean beaches stretch across the front of the resort with easy access and little crowding.
• Beach clubs – there are two beach clubs, with a variety of swimming pools to suit all tastes, abilities and age ranges.
• Kids Club – in the summer months a full range of children’s activities are laid on within the Cururucho beach club, both morning and afternoons.
• Iguana Park – this children’s play centre is ideal for burning off excess energy.
• Restaurants – there is an abundance of restaurants in Sotogrande that will suit all tastes and can cater for all the family. There are beach bars serving fresh seafood, traditional Andalusian offerings, excellent Argentine meat, fine dining opportunities, and a full range of bars and restaurants down in the marina. In addition the beach clubs, golf clubs and hotels all have their own top grade establishments.
• Further afield – Gibraltar is a mere 20 minute drive away and is well worth a visit to see the unique rock, the resident monkeys, caves and much more. Further up the coast the lights, nightclubs and fast social pace of Marbella and Puerto Banus are approx 30 minutes away.

Through the front door there is a spacious hallway with staircase and cloakroom. Moving through the villa there is a double sitting room – one area with fireplace and plasma screen above which is connected to a Dolby surround sound speaker system in the ceiling, sofas & chairs, and French windows out to the large side patio; the second area with drinks cabinet, desk with internet access, sofas and chairs and French windows out to the patio, front garden & pool.

Kitchen
The kitchen, off the dining room and hallway, is equipped to the highest standard – a plentiful supply of glassware, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans; oven & hob; microwave; dishwasher; American style fridge/freezer; smooth granite worksurfaces throughout. Just outside the kitchen is the semi-covered laundry with washing machine and dryer and space for outdoor drying.

Further details outdoors:
There are two main outside eating areas: one in the large wind-sheltered patio to the side of the villa, with seating for eight, large parasol, purpose built barbeque and its own herb borders; this can also serve as a ‘wind free’ sun trap. The second is on the covered patio at the front of the house looking out over the garden, pool, golf course and beyond; again dining table with seating for eight, plus lounge chairs for keeping cool in the shade.

On the first floor there is a sun trap, wind free patio for private, quiet and secure relaxation, with sunloungers tables and plants.

The garden faces out over the golf course with panoramic views all round. The key feature is the 8metre swimming pool which can be heated on request. The leading side of the pool has an ‘infinity’ edge allowing uninterrupted views whilst keeping cool. Should you have young children, as well as a cover, there is a removable safety fence that surrounds the pool with a secure gate to give peace of mind and security. There are sunloungers, tables and sofas for relaxation and admiring the view.
