Home description
Las Ventanas is a splendid 420-square-meter (about 4521 square feet) villa which sleeps twenty people. It has a private swimming pool, terraces, garden, and a wonderful view of the seascape and both the Sorrento and Amalfi Coasts.
Las Ventanas is a modern house with particular architecture value: seen from far away, its shape is elegant and stylish, similar to a large cat crouched on the green by the hill.
The architect who designed it had exactly this image in mind; he wanted to draw a cat which lies lazily while sunbathing before one of the most spectacular panoramas in the world!
Valuable marble has been widely used to adorn both the façade of the house and its interior; there is marble on the walls, on the floor, and in the bathrooms. Furnishings are also cared for and elegant.
The villa is located in the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula, 7 km (about 4.3 miles) from Sorrento and 12 km (about 7.5 miles) from Positano.

The Campania region
The unique archaeological heritage we can admire today in Campania is the result of centuries and centuries of foreign peoples ruling over this region and influencing its arts and civilization. From the temples of the age of the Magna Graecia and the buried towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, to the masterpieces kept in the several museums and churches of the region, and the archaeologial excavations of prehistoric sites. Campania is a must if you want to find out about the development of human history and civilization.
Campania has always delighted the palate of its visitors offering a wide range of delicate wines for all pockets and typical, delicious dishes. The endless fantasy of its inhabitanst has allowed magic combinations of the fruits of the sea with the fruits of the land originating recipes which have become famous all over the world. Campania is the home of pizza, mozzarella, lemons, and coffee: a real ritual for a worthy end of a meal.
Well equipped beach facilities and uncontaminated bays will welcome visitors looking for relax and crystal-clear water. The islands of the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi coast, the domitian littoral and Cilento represent only a few of the hundreds of kilometres of coast that Campania offers its visitors. If you are looking for a new way to live and enjoy this marvellous sea (whose clearness has earned “blue flags” – certifications given by authorities for unpolluted waters) you cannot miss an underwater archaeological tour.
Sorrento / Sorrentine Peninsula area
Sorrento, how many definitions have been ascribed to this locality, one of the most well-known international tourist sights. Sorrento, native city of the poet Torquato Tasso, who was born here in 1544; kind Sorrento; Sorrento: land of colours; Sorrento: land of the Mermaids; Sorrento, the city of the orange and lemon groves, etc.
Each one of these definitions contains the truth because Sorrento is indeed a very pretty little city where kindness and hospitality are a combination that is handed down from one generation to the next. Sorrento, not to be rhetorical, is indeed the land of colours: brilliant or delicate hues depending on the change of the seasons. If you just pause a moment to observe how emotional a sunset can be when you gaze in the direction of Punta del Capo, of Ischia or Procida, the outlines of which can be seen clearly, you will be amazed by the variety of colours and the beauty of the scene. Or look, preferably from the sea, towards the majestic ridge of tuff rock that changes colour at every hour of the day.

Further details indoors: Las Ventanas is a two-storey house featuring 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, two large living-rooms, a room with a fireplace two computers, a dining-room, and a large kitchen.
Once you have gone through the entrance gate and parked your car, you will cross part of the garden to arrive at the main door of the house, which is a large arched patio door that once crossed will lead you to the “mouth” of the cat.
The room you enter is spectacular, and it is inspired in the opened jaws of a cat: two pairs of white columns placed on both sides remind us of fangs. Among these columns, a set of staircases and passage ways around and above a double fountain with basin resembles the throat of a cat.
The staircases lead to the first floor, where you will find a large living-room divided in two by a passageway looking out on the basins and fountains which adorn the floor below. One part of the living-room has couches arranged around a fireplace splendidly decorated in green marble. Here you will also find a TV set with satellite dish, a telephone, and two computers with internet access. The other part is furnished with couches placed around a large patio door which gives access to a terrace overlooking the seascape.
Furnishings are elegant: the walls feature wooden intarsia works (typical handcraft of Sorrento) of fine workmanship, and the floor is a splendid inlay of valuable beige and brown marble inspired in the coat of a cat. You will see the cat motif everywhere: even all the inside doors have been decorated with depicted cats.
Two of the seven bedrooms of the villa are on the ground floor, while the rest is distributed around the living area on the first floor. They are furnished completely and elegantly and each room has its own bathroom. Five bathrooms are equipped with shower and two are equipped with bathtub. In addition, every bedroom has internet access, a satellite TV, a mini-fridge, and a safe. Upon request, two single beds may be placed in a room instead of the double bed.
The dining-room and the kitchen are on the ground floor. From the dining-room you can reach the area of the garden which is paved and furnished with tables, chairs, umbrellas and which is comfortable, pleasant and ideal for meals outdoor. On the ground floor there is an additional bathroom. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. You will find a four-burner stove, an oven, a microwave oven, two big fridges with freezer, a washing machine, and a dishwasher.
At Las Ventanas, you will have a 6-day cleaning service from 8.30 to 13.00 at your disposal. Linen is changed twice a week, and a chef is available upon request.
The villa is equipped with air-conditioning, internet access, daily cleaning services, and parking space.
Further details outdoors: Las Ventanas is situated in an isolated, prominent and panoramic area in the mountainous peninsula which separates the Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno. The villa is located right on the narrowing of the promontory, reason why, from its terraces, you can enjoy an incomparable landscape, which consists of both seas and both Gulfs: on the left you see the entire arch of the Gulf of Naples with the vent of the Vesuvius; on the right you see the Gulf of Salerno with Positano and Amalfi, not mentioning the Cilento Coast further away.
Definitely a landscape defined as one of the most beautiful in the world! During your stay here, you will never get tired of admiring it.
The villa is surrounded by a large garden distributed on several levels and by a hilly and woody land which is part of a protected area. The house is about 20 meters (about 66 feet) away from the road which connects Sorrento and the hamlet called Sant’Agata sui due Golfi. The latter, 4 km (about 2.5 miles) away, is famous for its restaurants.
At Las Ventanas, you will have a 10 x 4 meter (about 33 x 13 feet) swimming-pool surrounded by an area of lawn at your disposal. From the swimming pool, you will be able to enjoy a wide view of the seascape and the coast. Next to the swimming-pool you will find a whirlpool bathtub. The sun-drenched area is furnished with umbrellas and sun loungers. The swimming-pool is available from the first of May until the 31st of October. Only upon request is it open during other periods.
Las Ventanas is built on the slopes of a hill, and the house has a well-cared garden filled with flowers. The garden is distributed on several levels, and there are even places where you can stop to relax which are connected through pathways and outdoor stairways. You can stroll around and choose your favourite spot to enjoy the cooling shades of the trees or the view. It is a fenced garden.
