Villa Miragalli is a house of 145 square meters with a 1500 square meters garden, balconies and a terrace with a fascinating view of the sea and the coastline. It is suitable for six people, as there are two bedrooms and one sofa bed. There is also air conditioning. Although the house is built on a high rocky peak from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view that overlooks the sea, it is discreet and therefore does not spoil the extraordinary natural beauty of the place. When you are standing on the terraces, you will realise that you have found, at last, the perfect place you have been searching for to spend your holidays: in front of you there is the wide horizon of the sea and sky, beneath you the emerald green of the Amalfi coastline and the unmistakable shape of the Li Galli and Vetara isles. As from up here you are 250 meters above sea level, your eyes sweep over steep headlands and pinnacles of rock and a hole in the mountain, that protrude from the sea.

The Campania region

The Gulf of Naples is placed off the southwestern coast of Italy (province of Naples, Campania region). It opens to the west into the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered on the north by the cities of Naples and Pozzuoli, on the east by Mount Vesuvius, and on the south by the Sorrentine Peninsula and its main town Sorrento; the Peninsula separates it from the Gulf of Salerno. North to south the gulf runs from the city of Naples on a line to the Isle of Capri in the lower right of the map

Sorrento / Sorrentine Peninsula area

Sorrento is one of the best known resorts in Italy, situated on a tract of coastline of unrivalled beauty, on the northern slope of the Sorrentine Peninsula, in a sheltered spot, surrounded by luxuriant hills where vines, olives and above all high quality citrus fruits are grown. The site of patrician villas during Roman times, it has been a highly prestigious retreat since 700. Sorrento has been nicknamed “La Gentile” because of the gentleness of its climate, the refinement of its streets and gardens and of the friendliness of its inhabitants.

How to get there

Naples is the nearest airport about 50KM.

From the airport take the A3 direction Salerno-Reggio Calabria and take the gate "Castellammare di Stabia" then follow the sign "Sorrento",to reach the villa the car is recommended, almost 1hour from airport.

The inside of the house is just as fascinating as the outside.
The living room is spacious and has a beautiful stone fireplace. It is divided into a dining area and a sitting room. There is a long comfortable settee thoughtfully placed in front of the balcony so that you can enjoy watching the changing seascape. There is a piano beside the fireplace for anyone who enjoys playing.

The double bedroom is off the living room and also here there is a balcony with a sea view, in fact, even when you are lying in bed you can enjoy the sight of the sea and sky. There are sun loungers placed on the balcony. Next door to the bedroom there is a toilet and shower. There is also another toilet with W.C. and wash- hand basin.

The second bedroom has two single beds and a window with a view of the rocks.

The kitchen is large, built with locally-crafted majolica and well equipped with a cooker, an oven, a microwave oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dish-washer, etc..

There is another dining area linked to the kitchen and from there you can enter into the garden through a French Window. This dining area has a nice fireplace and a large dining table.

The owner has lovingly furnished the house for his family with antiques and valuable locally crafted furniture. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you will feel like welcome guests in a real Italian home.

There is air conditioning, central heating,satellite television, PS2, Internet free, piano,firewood, etc.

The house is 5 km (3 miles) away from Meta di Sorrento and the beach, 7 km (4.5 miles) from Sorrento and 9 km (5.5 miles) from Positano. The nearest village 'Colli di Fontanelle' centre with shops and restaurants is 800 meters (half a mile) away. The bus stop is 800 meters (half a mile) away from the house as well, and the bus will often come front to the villa ( this stop is not guaranteed). It is easy to reach interesting tourist attractions such as The Amalfitan and Sorrentian Coasts, and, of course, Capri, Pompeii, Naples, Paestum and Caserta with its famous palace. Ferries and hovercraft's can be caught from Sorrento. You will be able to go to the famous beaches around the Sorrento Coast, Positano, go shopping for the latest fashions and quality-controlled local products such as expensive wines, limoncello etc.

Guestbook

We hit the jackpot with this place! It is a piece of paradise in the hill just above Sorrento. The garden was a perfect place for sunning and reading with the most absolutely fantastic view of the Li Galli Islands, boats passing by and fabulous sunsets. The outdoor shower was perfect too! I'm almost hesitant to recommend it because it wont be our little secret anymore. It's an easy 10 minute drive to Sorrento and 20 to Positano, Amalfi, etc. Perfect location for a quiet hideaway but easy access to town. I'd go back 100 times over if I could. The owner, Bruno were lovely, warm people who I hope to keep in touch with.
