"Would stay here again"
The location was very close to the main piazza as well as the transit systems (train and bus). It was a great leaping off point to Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii and other local attractions. The convenience was well appreciated as my wife and I were traveling with her retired parents!
The apartment was very well kept and Vittorio was extremely helpful and sensitive to good customer service...a real pleasure to work with. We would highly recommend Casa Regina and would rent it again if we travel back to Sorrento.

"Wonderful base to explore the Amalfi Coast"
My wife and I and another couple stayed at Casa Regina 2BR/2BA for 5 nights at the end of April 2013. We arrived from Venice via an EasyJet flight to Naples and a Curreri Viaggi bus ride direct to the Sorrento train station which is just a short walk to Casa Regina. The connections worked out perfectly and we had a good look at the scenery from the bus.
We were greeted by Vittorio at the café in front of the building and shown the many features of the unit. The kitchen table had a generous fruit basket with bananas, kiwi fruit, apples and lemons which was very appreciated. Both bedrooms were spacious and had good beds which were comfortable but a little harder than we were accustomed to. The unit was on the fifth floor but a small elevator enabled us to move ourselves and luggage up with no difficulty. The balcony off the master bedroom had a marvelous view of Mount Vesuvius, the Gulf of Naples and the setting sun.
Our plan for the Sorrento leg of the Italy trip was to use public transportation and not drive ourselves. This approach worked out very well for us.
The first full day comprised a bus ride along the Amafi Coast which left from the Sorrento train station. It consisted of an amazing drive along a narrow coastal road with many switch backs through Positano to Amalfi. The road winds back and forth so I was glad I had taken a small piece of Gravol to prevent motion sickness. We then continued to the town of Ravello which involved a separate bus from Amalfi.
On the second day we took a train to Pompeii and bought a guided tour of the ruins. The sheer physical size of the town impressed us as well as the many advanced city planning features that were in place over 2,000 years ago. The rutted stones from the wheels, the suggestive frescoes and the lead water pipes were surprising to see.
After Pompeii we took a short train ride to Aplontis villa which was much better preserved than Pompeii. This was Nero's second wife's villa and was uncovered in the last 50 years and still has many original frescoes. Well worth the visit!
Day three was a day in Sorrento which involved shopping and walking the many narrow alleys lined with shops. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of calabrese salad and fish and chips at the Taverna Sorrento which is near the Hospital.
The last full day was a food tour to a local olive and lemon farm. We signed up at a small tourist office in Sorrento and it was the highlight of our trip. It was called Tour Enogastronomico Schiazzano et Tradizioni. We were picked up by Euginio and taken to his farm in Schiazzano where we met his family and toured his olive and lemon farm. We tasted his homemade lemonade, lemons, olive oil, cured meats, and lemoncello. A neighbouring farmer, Venetto, made mozzarrella cheese using his fresh milk and rennet. We later ate the cheese with his special cured meats from his farm.
For lunch we walked into town to a local restaurant and made our own pizza with Lucio, the owner. We finished the afternoon trip with lemoncello back at the farm. A truly memorable day and a great memory of the Amalfi coast!

We were a family of 8 adults in the two apartments. The location was great. We were all very comfortable. It was warm. It was nice to make tea, expresso, coffee and breakfast when we wanted to. Having a washing machine was convenient. The caretaker was helpful and available and taught me how to make expresso! We will be back. We loved Sorrento, the food, the people, the sights . Ciao

"No living room and very noisy street. Water heater inefficient."
We were surprised to realize that there was no living room per se. The tv screen is in the kitchen and there is no place to sit other than the kitchen chairs. Good location ( for transport facilities and groceries ) but very noisy street. The view of the bay and the Vesuvio is from the balcony in the master bedroom. The hot water system is inefficient and we took cold showers all week and had to boil water for washing the dishes. The Wi-fi is not in operation on a regular basis. We had no problem reaching the manager and he was punctual and easily available.
Just to be clear this review is regarding Casa Regina 2br/1ba, the smaller apartment of the duplex( Casa Regina 2br/2ba and Casa Regina 2br/1ba).
I'm sorry that your stay at Casa Regina 2br/1ba did not meet your complete satisfaction.
I send all my guests the apartment floor plan, where they can easily see the layout of the apartment. I'm sorry if you weren't clear with the layout.
The apartment has two TVs, one in the kitchen and the other in the Master Bedroom, as seen in the photos.
Our past clients have always liked the central location, as it affords them quick and easy access to Sorrento (3 minute walk).
Because of the location it does get some traffic noise during non-peak hours, but this noise can be eliminated by closing the double pane windows.
The hot water system and WiFi both work efficiently. It is very likely that you switched off the hot water heater by mistake. The WiFi is always on and any interruption in service would be due to the Service Provider. This rarely happens and if it does, service is quickly resumed, usually within a few minutes.
It was a pleasure meeting you at check-in and at check-out, and I really wish you had mentioned your issues to me during your stay, so that I could have done everything in my power to solve the issues.
I always take pride in ensuring that all my guests are 100% satisfied.
I'm very sorry for this Guest's disappointment. As always, I make every effort to satisfy our guests.
