"Beautiful, quiet apartment with breath taking views!!"

We had a wonderful two week holiday in this beautiful apartment. The family who own it are very friendly, attentive and helpful. We met Theresa and her Mum and Dad who are lovely . We never met Gaetano, her brother, but he texted us regularly to make sure we didn't have any problems. The apartment has two balconies - one at the front and one at the rear. The views from both of them are spectacular. It is well furnished in traditional Italian style. It is on the top floor of a secure, well kept gated complex, even the common areas are spotlessly clean. This was our 10th visit to Sorrento. We usually stay in hotels but an apartment is so much more relaxing. We could have 'lie ins' whenever we wanted and ate at different restaurants every evening (loads to choose from). There is so much to see in this area and even after ten years we're still finding hidden gems. This time we visited the Villa of Oplontis (Get off the train at the stop after Pompeii and it's a 10 minute walk to the villa). There are hardly any visitors and it is very well preserved. Lots of murals intact, really spectacular. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment and its location which is only a ten minute stroll from the centre of Sorrento.

Thank you a lot

"Great location but a few issues."

The apartment is spacious and well situated. A lovely view out over the Bay of Naples and only eight minutes walk into Sorrento town. There were a few issues with the provision within the apartment:T… More

On the internet page we wrote about internet access by a mobile key provided with an old laptop without webcam. Actually on the web page is clearly specified the difference between wifi access and our internet access. The guests had already an own internet mobile equipment and they asked for a webcam in order to get them showed by their family. We were sorry for that and we take them around in order to show some internet point provided with webcam as well.
We are sorry about the cooker and the lack of the oven. Actually there is oven. We did disable it for a safety matter. It is actually a gas oven and it is not mentioned and allowed in bed and breakfast facilities. We can only offer cooker hob. From now on we will clearly write it in our webpage.
We are sorry about the kettle. But we have one. It is placed in the cupboard, right in the kitchen. We showed our guests it for sure. Some past guests asked for it and we promptly bought it.
About the Marble. Two days before their departure, they sent a text to us: "Last night there was very
strong (gale force) wind. The table on the balcony was broken by the wind. We had
already noted that the marble top of the table was very loose and did not use it because of
this. The table top has come off and small chips of marble have broken from it. S….e and
A……e" We replied:"don't worry for the table, let us know what time are you going to leave."
The day after we found the marble top of the table chipped in some points, disconnected
from its base. The top marble of the table was lying down on the floor and a layer of wax
was spread on the base as they tried to fix it by pasting it to the marble back. It looks
like they tried to lift the table from the marble top in order to change its position and
accidentally they disconnected it from the base. In this last occasion or probably after
they fixed it with wax, the marble fell down to the floor and it chipped. The table was
actually not loose before our guests stay. The table was about 20 years old.

We are sorry about the television, but we definitely don't say about that on our web page and, as already written in past reviews, we don't want it because it is our holiday philosophy.

The deposit for damages is always required in our policy. We clearly write in our conditions that people has to agree before booking our property. The guests agreed with this policy as the booking report can show:

We are sorry for the violation of privacy. My father is a very kind old person. My father is used to buzz the entry phone of the apartment sometimes in order to ask the guests if anything is ok or if they need something. One of the guest in this case told my father to come in because her boyfriend cought a cold and was bleeding from the nose. My father offer them a painkiller and gave them the number of the emergency line. Furthermore when he was getting out of t he house, he took the advantage of catching a book from the entrance of the apartment.

We found a blanket stained with blood not really wine. They said it was already stained before their
stay. One of the guests cought a cold and he was bleeding from his nose.

They did not respect eco friendly collection of garbage. They left package of rubbish
in the garden and along the street. They put different kind of products in one bag and
they left some packages of trash all around eccept from the garbage can along the street.
Some people from around our area were very upset about that and threatened us to call
the police in order to fine us.

We agreed about a check out time at 11:45 am. We arrived at the apartment at 11:20.

We asked for 50 euro from the 200 euro deposit they agreed to
leave us. They threatened to give us a bad review and they shouted at us, throwing money
towards us. They denyed us 50 euro we required. So we gave them back all the deposit and
we kindly let them go.
We are very sorry for all it happened. My mother who is a very frail person, started to cry
when they yelled at her.

"Definitely worth a further visit"

We are happy to provide feedback on your beautiful Sorrento apartment. We had a wonderful holiday and we really enjoyed staying there. Linda asks me to include a very short list of little things she would include:

Tagliente cotello per carne e verdure (sharp knife for cutting meat and vegetables);
Sbuccia per verdure (peeler for vegetables);
Bicchieri per vino (wine glasses);
Un piccolo televisore (forse).

I was perfectly happy with the apartment as it is but Linda cooked the meals while we were there, so she noticed these things.
We watched the Italy/Germany football game on our i-pad but once we realised how expensive that might get on Dlink, we disabled it for the rest of the holiday. This was not at all important.
We must apologise for our poor Italian. We were fine for shopping and local travel etcetera and the local people were surprised and very encouraging. However, we obviously need more ltalian language skills for general conversation. Linda speaks French, I speak German and we both studied Japanese for three years. The space in my head for more languages is getting smaller
To clarify what I used to do before I retired; I was in the British Army for 22 years, coming out in the rank of senior Warrant Officer (Primo Maresciallo?). After that I joined British Aerospace (now called BAE Systems) as a senior aircraft systems engineer. I was there for 21 years and I took early retirement last year.
I would have found all that very difficult to explain in Italian.
Thank you again for helping us to have such a wonderful time in Sorrento.
Kindest Regards,
Graham and Linda.

We will provide the kitchen with more utensils. We are sorry about the television. We will think about it. Actually we thought it was not useful. We are sorry about the internet fee you had to pay for watching the football match on your i pad. We provide our guests, who require it, with a laptop and a mobile internet key included in the rate.

"Memorable Sorrento"

We were met at the apartment by the owners parents, and his sister. When I asked where the nearest Supermarket was the old gentleman took me in his car and gave me a short guided tour of Sorrento town centre pointing out supermarkets. restaurants, banks, and the bus/ train station, this immediately gave me a good feel for the town.
The apartment was clean, spacious and well furnished, with balconies to the front and rear of the property ,with beautiful views of Vesuvious and the island of Ischia , the other balcony looked into an Lemon grove.
The apartment was located within easy walking distance of Piazza Tasso and approximately 600 metres from the Circumvesuviana train / bus station.
We made good use of the bus, train and ferry sevices . All of the touring we managed ourselves, visiting Pompei, 4 euro return on the train,Naples our favourite 7 euro return, The Amalfi bus trip unforgetable brilliant journey and so cheap at 7 euro return, and the island of Capri 30 euro return. I have to say that Capri was a big let down as everything on the island was so expensive except the bus trip up to the town centre from the Marina.
On leaving our apartment we were catching the 6,30 am bus, the owners sister came and picked us up from the apartment and took us to the bus station she did not have to do this but it was a very nice touch.
I would recommend this apartment .

"perfect base for touring"

"Perfect base for touring the area!"
This flat is in an excellent position, within walking distance of the Sorrento old town and train/bus station. Tucked away in a quiet side turning and boardered by a lemon Grove. No problems with traffic noise or anything else to prevent a good nights sleep. The flat is spacious, clean and tidy with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and a modern recently refurbished bathroom. The owners family use the flat on occasions and 3 rooms are locked off for their private use but this still leaves a large lounge and kitchen. There are two balconies, one to the bedroom and kitchen and one to the lounge. The lounge one having great views of Capri and Vesuvius. The owners parents were waiting to great us and check us in but with their broken English and our total lack of Italian this was difficult and a bit confusing.(They were lovely people and even gave us a lift back to the bus station when leaving for our coach to the airport. The owner was however available to speak to and his English was perfect. Clearer and fuller instructions and advice in English would help. There is no TV or wi-fi (wi-fi available in nearby bar though)and no washing machine but we were not expecting these and did not need them. The hot water was only enough for one shower then a short wait while the next batch heated up - not a problem if you plan ahead! The were not a lot of kitchen utensils. We used a saucepan to boil water and a grill pan for toast but as we only used it for snacks it was fine. I would not want to cook a meal here! Daily travel to Naples, Pompei, Herculaneum, Vesuvious, Amalfi Coast, Capri etc are easy from this perfect base by bus, train or hydrofoil. Overall good value for money! Plenty of heating and air-con but we needed neither.

We recently (2012) introduced internet mobile key provided with a laptop. There are 90 minutes of internet access a day available.
In order to have hot water constantly, it is simply required to put the thermostat of the boiler higher. May be it was at a low level.
We added a lot of new and useful utensils in the kitchen. We introduced a proper toaster.

We took the electricity charge off (2012). Anyway it was clearly showed on our advertise and website as well. Actually there was a consumption of 30 kw over the agreed amount of 70 kw week .

"Large, good, quiet apartment"

SoggiorniSorrento is a large and comfortable apartment about 25 minutes walk from the main square, Piazzo Tasso, so close enough to easily walk in but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle … More

The apartment is 1,1 mt away from piazza tasso according google map. The time calculated by google map is 15 minutes. Whe you check it on google map, consider that diramazione vicoli rota 13 street is round the corner with vico secondo rota street and not that more ahead as frequently showed onn google map.
