The Balearic Islands region

Menorca is a peaceful island with an abundance of lovely beaches, pretty harbours and a genuine friendliness from it’s people. There are a plethora of sports available and a wide choice of restaurants to choose from

Known as the "Blue and White" for it’s sparkling white houses and deep blue sea, Menorca is located about 160 miles south of Barcelona and 30 miles north of Mallorca. The island measures approximately 35 miles long and 10 miles wide with sun bleached villages and pretty countryside.

It is one of the most enduring attractive of the smaller Mediterranean islands, with a particular charm and tranquility of it’s own. There are around 120 coves and sandy beaches, mostly with safe crystal clear waters ideal for small children. The roads are rarely busy and the landscape is one of rolling farmland, magnificent cliffs and exquisite sands. The South East of the island is partly flat with fields surrounded by dry stone walls while in the north are pine covered hills with wild flowers and scrubs.

There is a seemingly never ending array of restaurants lining the whole length of the marina offering all types of cuisine including the more traditional Menorcan dishes.

Fornells is a picturesque fishing village located within a very short drive of Son Parc to the North of the island. It is ideal for wind surfing and sailing with numerous sailing schools located in the area. There are a variety of seafood restaurants and cafes gathered around the harbour offering local dishes including Caldareta de Langosta a delicious local seafood casserole made with lobster.

There is a website giving a lot of general information about the island at, or telephone +34 971 362357 or fax +34 971 351587 to obtain a copy of their printed information sheet.

Son Parc

Villa Olivia is situated in Son Parc on the north coast of the island, in an area of approximately three hundred hectares of landscapes and pine forests. It offers the perfect spot for a family holiday or for those demanding a golf course on the doorstep.

There is an abundance of watersports available including windsurfing, water skiing, jet skis and pedaloes.

There is an abundance of good restaurants on the island to suit all budgets offering a wide variety of cuisines from the traditional Menorquin to Italian, Indian, French and Thai. For information contact

As well as being the highest point it is also the spiritual centre with the sanctuary built in the late 16th century and tended by a community of Franciscan nuns. The views over almost all of the island are quite spectacular.

"Superb place to unwind and have a great family holiday"

it really is in a lovely quiet position – instantly relaxing. Our daughters lived in the pool and I walked to the sea for a morning swim every day before breakfast : only person in there at that time!!
A really good safe beach for all the family. Crystal clear water like a millpond on some days and very gentle gradient.

Use island cars for your rental: the quickest and easiest car retrieval and return I've ever had

"Lovely villa in a great location."

Our family of 4 stayed at Villa Olivia in May 2014 half-term. The villa was well equipped, pretty and bigger than we anticipated from the photos online. It is situated in a quiet close, away from the main activities of Son Parc, but easy to walk to the shops, beach, etc. The pool was clean and maintained during our stay and the owners very quick to respond to any questions as well as superbly organized. Son Parc in the North of Menorca is just above the beautiful national park “Parque Natural de s'Albufera des Grau”. It is less well populated than the South of the island with a dramatic coastline. Travelling around the island takes a matter of hours and there are main roads taking you to all the major destinations. Overall a wonderful holiday and highly recommend both the island and Villa Olivia.

"So relaxing, just what we wanted."

What a lovely property, we had a delightful and relaxing stay.

The property is in a great and quiet location, hidden in a very quiet cul de sac surrounded by pine forest.

The rooms are all excellent with aircon in all three bedrooms, and two bathrooms in the property. Our favourite area was the pool which allowed us to cool off at the end of a day, there is also a BBQ for anyone that fancies cooking outside.

The house also has an array of books for anyone that likes a read, and a couple of kids DVD's.

Another bonus is the dishwasher, clothes wash and tumble drier (not that you need it with the hot sun to dry things)

The local area has a couple of supermarkets and bars. We chose not to eat locally, preferring to travel to the nearby fishing village of Fornells where there was more life and better restaurants. The local beach was amazing with crystal clear and quiet waters. While there were more pretty beaches on the island this remained our favourite overall and perfect for anyone with children.

We were so upset at leaving to go back to the UK.

"Fantastic island holiday"

We would like to thank you for our enjoyable holiday at your beautiful Villa Olivia.
The setting of the villa in a quiet cul-de-sac among pine trees is near perfect. Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday is at hand, the accommodation is very comfortable, a large open plan living, dining and kitchen makes it a sociable place to be. All the bedrooms have the luxury of air conditioning the master having it's own small balcony and en-suite.
Outside the terrace is perfect for alfresco dining and a glass of wine, the pool on the lower level is a great way to cool off after a busy day sight seeing.
The villa being on Son Parc has the advantage of places to eat nearby on site, plus various shops and a couple of small supermarkets, the golf course is also less than half a mile away.
We really enjoyed our holiday there, a great spot to tour the island from.

"Great villa in a beautiful location"

This is a delightful villa in a quiet location near the end of a cul de sac but within easy walking distance of the beach. Other amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants and bars are also close by. We enjoyed playing the golf course on the development which is a good quality 18 hole course but also offers cheaper 9 hole rates.

The villa has a great layout with the main open plan area of kitchen, dining area and lounge being spacious and comfortable. It leads out onto the terrace overlooking the excellent swimming pool which our 4 year old grandson loved. The bedrooms all have air conditioning (but not the main living areas) and the units were efficient and very quiet in operation unlike some hotel units I have known.

The island is delightful and easy to get around with a hire car with Son Parc being well situated to get to all parts of the island. Arenal d'en Castell is a fantastic bay with really clear water only 5 mins away by car and Es Grau with a beautiful nature reserve behind the beach is also well worth visiting along with the main towns of Ciutadella and Mao (Mahon).

I can highly recommend the villa and the location.

"Relaxing and quiet"

We stayed at Villa Ollivia in Son Parc for 10 days at the beginning of June 2013. The villa is very well equipped was very clean and the pool cleaner and cleaners were very friendly. It was good to have Sue's telephone number in case of an emergency. We found a couple of very good restaurants to eat which had great food, service and great value for money.
