About the home

E1 is set in a peaceful hillside location in St Jaime with wonderful views over Son Bou beach, towards the island of Majorca. The apartment is surrounded by well kept gardens and walkways abounding with Mediterranean flowers and plants. Butterflies and the occasional wild tortoise can be found. There is a very large private pool area with baby pool and equally lovely views. This part of St Jaime is an exclusive development and the villas and apartments are privately owned. There are, therefore, no shared facilities such as bars ,shops or restaurants.
The beach, shops,bars and restaurants of Son Bou however are just a 10 minute walk away.drinks, Son Bou is a vibrant resort and will suit all ages. Water sports include water-ski-ing, paragliding and the 'sausage boat'. Young children will love the water slides set back from the beach and the amazing outdoor maze with themed games. There are some good restaurants and bars and one or two discos suitable for teenagers.

The Menorca region

There is truly something for everyone in Menorca. Less commercialised than its sister islands of Majorca and Ibiza it's a perfect beach holiday for families enjoying almost guaranteed sunshine and balmy nights through the summer months. There are numerous supervised beaches with all manner of water sports or the more adventurous can drive or walk to one of the small deserted coves - you can find yourself on your own even in the middle of summer.

Menorca is a walkers paradise and attracts birdwatchers from all over the world especially to the albufara at Es Grau. Dine in the evenings at one of the harbours, stylish Mahon, Es Castell or Fornells where the king of Sapin visits especially for the lobster calderetta. Children will love fishing and searching the countryside to find wild tortoises and rare butterflies.Spend the evening at one of the local fiestas watching the daring horseriders parade round the narrow streets, enjoy the local produce, fresh fish, grapes, melon and figs, olives and nuts,the local cheeses and of course the local gin and herb liquors.

The Son Bou / St Jaime area

The long sandy beach is perfect for bathing, sun-worshipping or more strenuous activities such as building sand castles and sea walls! Sunbeds and umbrellas can be hired or you can find you have the beach almost to yourself if you are prepared to walk. There are boats to hire, waterski-ing and paragliding and a scubadiving centre.Several beachbars sell drinks and food until late at night.

Behind the beach there are shops including supermarkets,clothes shops and a medical centre. There are several good restaurants and bars including the Hawaiian cocktail bar. The water slides are a must for children as is the extraordinary outdoor maze with its theme nights such as 'scream'

There are direct flights to Mahon from most UK airports. Monarch and Easyjet have scheduled flights each week and most of the large tour companies for example Thompson and First Choice have regular flights throughout the holiday season which are easily booked over the internet.
Son Bou is about 20 minutes drive from Mahon airport.
The owners have a link with Momple cars, the oldest car hire firm on the island who offer a personal service and discounted rates can be arranged.
