Enquire nowThe West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
In the far corner of South West Wales lies Pembrokeshire. Once you've discovered it you'll love it! Miles of coast path and some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, all set within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, is the reason people return year after year. Whether you enjoy walking, surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip, bird watching or dolphin spotting, around the coastline or islands, there is something for you.
There are adventure parks, for the children to enjoy, and for those who love shopping, the little town of Narbeth has a selection of shops selling everything from quirky gifts to top brands.
The Solva area
Situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with it's pretty colour washed houses, river and breathtaking natural fiord - like harbour , Solva is the perfect holiday destination. Great for children and adults alike. At low tide a sandy beach is revealed, perfect for building sand castles or paddling in the rock pools, but even at high tide there is plenty to do. The village has 4 pubs, a good selection of cafes and several shops and art galleries. Nearby (approx 3 miles) is the beautiful cathedral city of St Davids( Britain's smallest city), and the local area boasts many fine beaches and quaint little harbours.
For the more energetic, the coast path offers some great walking, and the nearby beaches are good for surfing.

A beautifully decorated and well-equipped house,it suited all our needs, from grandchild to grand-parents, with a range of games and DVDs suitable for all ages. An excellent location for exploring this part of Pembrokeshire, including going to the islands. And Jane made booking very easy with clear travel instructions. Would certainly come back here! Response: Thank-you very much for your kind comments. Really glad you and your family enjoyed your stay in Solva. |

We stayed here as I was participating in the Tour of Pembrokeshire bike ride. It was conveniently situated 10 minute drive away from the start line in St Davids. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children. Anchor Down was very well equipped (better than my own kitchen!) , beds extremely comfortable, decorated nicely and children well catered for with outdoor and indoor games. The views were spectacular from the lounge and dining areas we immediately felt relaxed. There was enough room for the children to run around and they kept themselves entertained even when we stayed in due to the rain and sat by hte cosy fire. We really loved the decor with the nautical theme and can see that Anchor Down is a well looked after holiday home. The surrounding areas are just breathtaking, the coastal path is right outside the house. There are some lovely pubs in Solva, we ate at the Cambrian which was lovely pub grub and its nice to see some old traditional (non-chain!) pubs . We didn;t do much sight-seeing as the focus was really on the bike ride, but we visited St Davids, Porth-Gain, Newgale, White Sands all worth a visit for the views, bistros, art gallaries etc. Anchor Down is conveniently situated to explore Pembrokeshire with most of the towns not more than 1hr away. Thank you for providing such wonderful accomodation is such a beautiful part of Wales. We will definitely book again! Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your weekend in Solva. Thank you for your lovely comments. |
