The Mallorca/Majorca region

Soller, nestled in the Sierra de Tramontana, at the foot of a valley is well known for its authentic Mediterranean climate and an unique cuisine that blends the best of sea and mountains.

Costumer can go for a walk among the mountains in the morning and relax laying on the beach in the afternoon.

Soller

Summer period is the best time to visit it, but in winter, Soller and surrounding areas offer a variety of hiking and cycling trails that makes this Valley special.

Soller celebrates a Fiesta every 1st Monday of May which is worth seeing. It is called "Moros y Christianos" and all local people are dressed up in the typical ancient way and perform a battle that took place in Port de Soller and Soller between the Moors and the Christians.

"Superb location, well equipped, great management:)"

First tip: You will probably arrive here via the tram from Soller. If you do, MAKE SURE you get off at the correct (1st) stop at the port. Otherwise you will have a long walk with your baggage , or like us, you will be so wrecked from your journey, you will get a cab, for all of 400meters and get ripped off to the tune of €10(!!!!) not happy, but that is not the fault of the apartment owners.

The apartment was perfect. We had a mountain view which was lovely, and quieter than the sea view I'd iamgine, although the resort is lovely and peaceful, no neon signs or pounding bad club music. It's lovely, really. The sea is practically on the doorstep, as are lovely restaurants. The area is clean and well maintained and there are no sewage stench, as there is in Alcudia. The seawater is safe, clean and warm of course (in August). It is not the kind of resort where you have to fight for space. The sunbeds cost €11 to rent per day so be ready for that. It's pricey, but then you can see where the money is being spent so it's not something to get upset about.

The tram stop is really near the apartment and its €5 each way to Soller which is just gorgeous and well worth several visits. There is a great bike hire shop where they have all sorts of bikes, inc battery operated, which you may want to go for as all the cool place to cycle to are up VERY steep hills. There is car hire of course as well. Its a good place for a base to explore from, and lovely to come back to after a long day of adventuring.

There is no hairdryer in the apt, but you can ask for one. There is a bidet, bath and shower , cooking rings, no oven, there is a microwave, fridge, freezer compartment, coffee maker, kettle, and enough equipment for simple meals. The air conditioning is quiet and the most efficient I have ever come across abroad. There is a top loading washing machine (you'll need to buy detergent), and a clothes horse. Spare blankets, very comfy couches that convert into beds, and the beds themselves are very comfortable (for me thats firm , not hard).

I would say though - ask for a top floor apartment. The people staying above us where very noisy, and had a habit of walking around literally all night(??!!) and sounded like elephants.... so just in case - they did have a word with them for us which was great and helped actually, but next time I'll ask for top floor! No doubt we sounded like elephants to the people below us too, so we were padding around quietly conscious of the possibility.

There is a lift, which works, and is kept clean. Your linen will be changed twice per week which is plenty - you can wash things yourself anyway if you need to.

The office is staffed all the time and they are very nice and helpful.

So I totally recommend!
