The Xalet Font can sleep up to 14 people on single beds .. The Xalet has 7 small and cost twin rooms with single beds. Each room as a small en suite shower, WC and washbasin.
Two of the rooms have an overhead mezzanine which is accessed by a ladder to a single mattress.
This gives the option for 16 beds in total.

The Xalet Font is ideal for groups or families looking for joint accommodation.

There is a lounge, dining area and kitchen for exclusive use of Xalet guests.
The lounge has comfy seating for apres ski and after dinner drinks and relaxation with TV & DVD player, board games and books,
The kichen area has oven and hob. fridge freezer and utensils for self catering. The dining table can seat 14 people.
A supermarket is located underneath the chalet for convenient grocery shopping.

The Xalet Font entrance is next door to the Supermaket Font a short walk up from the main road of Soldeu. All resort facilities and amenities are within just moments waslk from the Chalet.

The Xalet Font was the first 'Chalet' style accommodation in Andorra.
The more modern Casa Vella Popaire is connected to the Xalet Font building by stairwell although these guests do not have access to the Xalet Font areas.

Smoking is not permitted inside the chalet, you may smoke outside or on the small balcony of the lounge.

Bookings can only be guaranteed when a deposit is paid by credit card.
This is the only property of its type in Soldeu and therefore it sells out fast.
We regret that we cannot hold off any dates. All bookings can only be confirmed with deposit.
Deposit is 30% of the accommodation cost. Balance payment is due 10 weeks before arrival
Al credit card transactions have a 1.5% transaction fee.

The Canillo region

Soldeu is an enchanting village that captures many visitors seeing them returning year after year on holiday, to work and some cases set up home.

Soldeu is a perfect example of a village that has developed tourism whilst keeping strong the farming roots of the community and the mountain village atmosphere.

Several families share the village and you will see the evidence of this still today.
The Calbo, Font, Bonell,Naudi,Peretol and Maistre Familes have all contributed greatly to the development of the village and its Ski Area.

Soldeu was the second resort in the Principality of Andorra was also born of an initiative by skiing enthusiasts. Miquel Baró, Josep Torrallardona i Martí Salvans opened the first chairlift at the foot of the village of Soldeu in the area called Espiolets. It was February 1964 and the ski euphoria was spreading fast in all sectors. And so in the winter of 1981 the resort was extended to include the area called El Tarter and took the name Soldeu-El Tarter. Artificial snow cannons reach the resort in the winter of 1987 this was just shortly behind Pas de La Casa who introduced the 1st snow cannons to the country in 1986.

Soldeu El Tarter did lead Andorra and the entire Pyrenees in lift technology. In 2000 the regions first 8 seater high speed gondola lift was opened to transport skiers to the top of the mountain in greater comfort and speed.
Soldeu comes alive in the winter months as a skiing town. The skiing is part of the 193km GRANDVALIRA ski area, the largest area in the Pyrenees

The village is at 1710 metres and the top of the ski area is at 2580 metres. The gondola from the village rises to 2250 metres where the ski and board schools as well as restaurants are located.

The Soldeu El Tarter Ski/Board School is one of the largest English speaking schools in Europe. Over 450 instructors, many of which are native English speakers offer the highest and most proficient level of teaching from absolute beginner to advanced and freestyle. They are the winners of several top European awards for their high standards and excellent reputation. Whatever your level of skiing or boarding, their will be a course or class to suit you.

In the village of Soldeu there is something to suit all types and tastes.
The Sport Complex at the top end of Soldeu now offers you 4 Star quality in the Port and Sport Village and the new addition of the 5* Hermitage Hotel which really is a touch of class. The Wellness Centre (open 2006/07) is a real must for any visitor to the village to soak away the aches and pains of their week.s

Soldeu also offers all levels of hotel and self catering apartment accommodation. The majority of accommodation is offered by the package tour operators but you can now find deals on line and make your own way.

Apres Ski time is a great time of the day in Soldeu. The local bars and hotels often offer live music, video shows of the days skiing and entertainment for those in need of a refreshment after a day on the mountain.
The bars of Soldeu are all very friendly places with English speaking staff that welcome new visitors and returning visitors back year after year.

Such is the friendly style of Soldeu, you are most likely to find your instructor or tour operator representative at this time of day and always more than happy to chat about the day on the mountain.

The Apres ski time buzz is superb in the village and this is just the warm up for the night life of Soldeu. Soldeu at night can be as lively or as peaceful as you want it be with bars closing around 2am.

“Fantastic Value for money, great location, great property” We stayed at Xalet Font in 2011 and enjoyed it so much decided to stay again in 2012. Once again we were not disappointed, Andorra Travel who look after the property, in my opinion offer a 5* service... more

“Fantastic simple gem of a place, ideally located” Stayed here with a group of 8 and it was perfect for us. We were self catered, and there's a supermarket beneath the chalet/apartment. The supermarket is a bit pricey but fairly well stocked and friendly staff. The entrance goes straight into the open plan kitchen living area with some steps up to the bedrooms. Each room is ensuite with a simple shower and toilet, but clean and warm. Each room also has a mezzanine for a third bed but the chalet can only take 16 for fire safety reasons. Rooms were cosy and warm (although one was much colder than the others) - the rooms at the front were a bit noisier but not enough to kick up a fuss. Living area was spacious and warm, with a small kitchen. I hate induction hobs but it was good enough for us! There's free ski storage below and it's only a few minutes from the gondola and the main drag in Soldeu. There was supposed to be games and DVDs in the chalet but we had to go over the road to the agents to get them (who were lovely!) Internet was available but expensive! We weren't there for that so it wasn't a problem but would have been nice to have. Overall, great value (would have been even better value with more people sharing the cost), unfussy and friendly service, cosy place and great location. Definitely recommend and we'll be back again!
