2961 - Lavender Cottage
About the home
Lavender Cottage is one of those “gingerbread houses”, and is built in the distinctive local carr stone. Tucked away behind the main village road but within easy walking distance of the amenities of Snettisham, this attractive, modern, three bedroom end-terraced house offers bright and welcoming accommodation including a well-equipped kitchen which leads onto the conservatory with a view of the beautiful little garden, often full of wild bird visitors. The cosy sitting room leads into the dining room and is a relaxing space to return to after a day’s sightseeing and exploring. Lavender Cottage offers a comfortable holiday retreat at any time of year.

The East Anglia / Norfolk region
Picturesque clusters of stone cottages, rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways – East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers unspoilt beaches, saltmarshes, picturesque cliffs, and quaint flint villages. The pretty, popular resorts of Blakeney & Wells form part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England and Wales, where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of common and grey seals, along with abundant birdlife. Families can enjoy the popular tourist resort of Great Yarmouth, enjoy the thrills and spills at Pleasurewood Hills theme park, or roam the cycle paths and sculpture trail at Thetford Forest (not forgetting the‘Go Ape’ high wire adventure centre in the heart of the forest).
Cromer is well known for its pier and crabs, or how about Sheringham, from where you can ride on a steam train to the delightful town of Holt, with its specialist shops and charming market place? Equally as charming are the coastline and countryside of Suffolk. Historic sites such as Sutton Hoo and Framlington Castle sit alongside museums, high-wire adventure trails, beautiful gardens and bustling market towns, amidst lovely countryside with plentiful walking and cycle paths. The coastline of the area is popular with families, and the whole region has a very strong arts movement, with plenty of work by local artists on display and available to purchase.
The Snettisham area
The traditional Norfolk village of Snettisham is characterized by the pretty golden brown houses – known locally as “gingerbread houses” due to the colouring of the local iron-rich carr stone used in their construction. The village has a number of convenient amenities including general stores, welcoming inns, good restaurants, a Post Office, a butcher's and a regular bus service to the family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and King's Lynn. There is plenty for all the family here, including Park Farm on the edge of the village, a working farm with year-round activities. An RSPB bird sanctuary is a mile away, and the historic Peddars Way public footpath provides lovely walking near to the village. The impressive house, church and gardens of the Royal Estate of Sandringham is nearby, and just follow your nose to find Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm, with its charming tearooms and gift shop.

A lovely warm, very clean cottage. We had a lovely welcome pack of cake, juice & milk. An ideal location for exploring the country & coast.

,The overall home from home feel about the cottage was superb. The owner even left us a home made cake to eat upon our arrival. The cleanliness was 10/10 and the village location was great for peace and quiet. It was a brilliant holiday helped by superb weather.
