Sneem Secret Harbour is located on the Ring of Kerry, that is world famous for unsurpassed scenery, dramatic panoramas and majestic mountains. Being just 3km from Sneem village and only a short stroll from the breathtaking scenery of Oysterbed Harbour, it is ideally located to satisfy all your needs.
Kenmare is 24km away, a half hour drive along the beautiful coast road of Kenmare Bay. Kenmare offers a wonderful selection of 5 Star Hotels, Shops, Cafes, Bars and award-winning Restaurants.
A drive to Muckross House &Gardens in the Killarney National Park (43km) passes through some of the most exquisite scenery in the world and provides breathtaking views of the Lakes of Killarney and surrounding mountains.
Sneem / Oysterbed Pier area
Sneem, meaning "knot" in Irish, is called "The Knot in the Ring". It is a relaxed and romantic little village and the ideal location for guests looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
It has lots of interesting shops, a wonderful selection of traditional Irish pubs with regular live music, restaurants, cafes and a 4 Star hotel. The village has a beautiful setting with its backdrop of mountains and is divided in the middle by a bridge over the falls in the Sneem River that forms the focal point in the village and provides dramatic views.
Magical Oysterbed Harbour and nearby islands are only a short stroll from the house. With its seal colony, visiting dolphins and huge diversity of wildlife and vegetation, the area provides spectacular scenery and ideal opportunities for lots of outdoor activities - hillwalking, fishing, boating, swimming, snorkelling, diving, walking and cycling, and wildlife interests. Or you can just sit on the pier and absorb the exquisite peace and tranquility.
Many other activities are also available nearby like horse-riding, windsurfing, sea angling and sailing.
Parknasilla Hotel and Spa, with its magnificent gardens, golf course and labyrinth of walks, is one of Europe's finest hotels and is less than 2km from the house. Parknasilla comes from the Irish "Pairc na Saileac", meaning "Field of the Willow Trees". It has a rich heritage dating back to 1692 and is a nearby gem that you simply must visit. The marked pathways and tracks that wind through the hotel's extensive woodlands and islands are set amid spectacular, lush scenery. The walks are designed so that you can choose a short walk lasting about 30 minutes or a longer route taking up to 2 hours. When you finish up back at the hotel, you can then reward yourself with a drink in the bar or afternoon tea and sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful ambiance and comfort of this unique hotel.
How to get there
Sneem Secret Harbour is on the N70 'Ring of Kerry' road, only 3km from Sneem village and 24km from Kenmare. It is 2km from the world renowned Parknasilla Hotel.
From Kerry Airport-Journey approx 1hr 10mins. Take N22 south to Killarney. Leave Killarney on N71 to Molls Gap. At Molls Gap turn right on to N70 to Sneem. Leave Sneem on N70 (east) towards Kenmare for 2km, turning right at sign for Oysterbed Pier.
From Cork (Airport/Ferry)-Journey approx 2hr 15mins. Take N22 west for Killarney. 12km after Ballyvourney take a left on to the R569 to Kenmare. Leave Kenmare on the N70 for approx 24km. 1km after Parknasilla Hotel take a left for Oysterbed Pier.

A paved patio area runs along the entire rear of the house that is south facing and enjoys sunshine all day. 2 patio tables and lots of seating are provided.
There is a large, private 1st floor deck area that can be accessed both from Bedroom 3 and also by means of an outside stairway at the rear of the house. Here you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding sea and mountains. This deck is very peaceful and completely private-a perfect place to read your book and enjoy a quiet drink.

VERY STRICTLY NON SMOKING and NO PETS. Heating and electricity are charged separately. All bed linen and towels are provided, along with turf and firewood, a welcome hamper and a generous supply of basic kitchen requirements. House is cleaned from top to bottom for your arrival. Housekeeping during your stay can be arranged on request at extra cost. The property may not be suitable for very small children.
