Cas-Gwent House is a traditional double fronted old town house. This beautiful property is built on a corner plot and has three very large double bedrooms and three luxurious bathrooms.

What makes the house something really special is its roof garden with plunge pool and the ideal location, being only a few hundred yards from the sea front on the border of Malta's most popular locations of Sliema and St.Julians.

The house can comfortably sleep up to eight adults and two children and is ideal for a family holiday or a number of couples. The property is in a quiet residential area and as many of our near neighbours are elderly people the house is not suitable for a group of young people. This is a holiday home with a difference. The house itself is full of character and beautifully furnished throughout and we think our rates represent great value for money at a price everyone can afford.

The Maltese architect and restoration expert Joseph Mifsud has lovingly restored this beautiful property to all its former glory. Most of the original features have been retained to capture the atmosphere and feeling of a quaint bygone era. The high ceilings, ceiling beams, window shutters, stone arches and other exposed stonework have all been conserved to retain the historic fabric of the building.

The downstairs comprises of entrance through an imposing hallway leading to two very spacious reception rooms on either side. On the right is a the lounge and sitting room furnished with a three-piece leather suite , two coffee tables, and a new 40 inch flat screen television with a comprehensive list of cable channels available. The lounge can double up as a fourth bedroom at night if needed by making use of a very comfortable sofa bed that sleeps two adults. The downstairs toilet also has a built in shower and is easily accessed from the lounge meaning that guests using the lounge as a bedroom have their own bathroom and there is also plenty of closet space available.

The fully equipped kitchen lies at the rear and adjoins the dining room on the left hand side of the house. There is an electric cooker with hob, micro wave oven, coffee maker, toaster, electric kettle and food blender as well as a full complement of cutlery and crockery.

The dining room area incorporates an eight seat antique dining table that is absolutely perfect for those intimate dinner parties with friends and family.

Upstairs on the first floor are the three bedrooms. All have shuttered windows and high ceilings and each one is equipped with a powerful ceiling fan. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with built in shower, toilet and a wash basin. This room is on the side of the house and has a balcony overlooking Isouard Street with a view of the sea front which is only about 500 metres away.

Bedrooms two and three share the very impressive upstairs bathroom that has both a built in shower and a bath, together with a toilet and wash basin. Both bedrooms are exceptionally large and each is furnished with a double bed plus an additional single bed that can be used to sleep smaller children. On request the two singles can be placed together in one of the bedrooms depending on a family's preferred sleeping arrangements. All the bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space and there is also an additional chest of drawers in each of the bedrooms. The main bedroom also has a dressing table.

From the first floor a stairway leads up to the roof garden. The roof is a real suntrap and for obvious reasons guests love to spend time up there either relaxing on a sun lounger or cooling off in the plunge pool. There is also an eight seat table on the roof which is ideal for enjoying breakfast outside in the morning sun. A mini kitchenette with a sink, work top surface and microwave mean that food preparation can be all done up on the roof and there are facilities for making tea and coffee and a fridge for storing cold drinks and food.

Also on the roof level is a wash room with another sink and a washing machine that guests are welcome to use. An iron and ironing board are also available.

Angela our cleaner comes in every week (for guests staying at least two weeks) to change bedding and towels and clean throughout the house. If you are booked for 1 week only she will come in before and after your stay. Each guest will be supplied with 2 bath towels per week and guests should please bring their own beach towels. There are no additional charges for these services. Electric and water are supplied free of charge of course but we respectfully ask you not to waste energy by making sure you switch off fans and lighting before going out.
