Riverside Lodge lies at the bottom of a picturesque leafy valley, overlooking a stream that winds its way through the trees. The timber lodge is one of a small group of privately owned lodges, built to blend into the beautiful woodland surround. It has a wrap round timber veranda, positioned privately overlooking the river. This provides the perfect setting to soak up this idyllic riverside position. A perfect choice for a couple looking for a very special break or small family, this luxurious Scandinavian timber lodge is arranged with a sleek, modern open plan interior, bathed in sunlight from a full sized windows at the far end. Leading off from the lounge there are two bedrooms to the rear, the master with en-suite shower room.
Experience a holiday with a difference, a riverside setting, just two miles from the beach, surrounded by trees, deep in the heart of a beautiful valley in South Devon. A perfect destination for families, friends and couples to truly relax and enjoy all the fun of the real outdoors in absolute luxury. Spend your summer evenings barbecuing in the meadow, and as the sun dips below the tree line, keep toasty around the Indian Kadai Fire Pit. Discover the local wildlife whilst exploring along the Nature Trail, or roll up the trousers and go for a paddle in the stream.
There is much to do in this area if you can tear yourself away. One of the finest sandy beaches in South Devon, Blackpool Sands is just 5 miles away, for the surfers and paddleboarders amongst you Salcombe and Bantham beaches are just 25 minutes and the shingle and pebble bar at Slapton is just 2 miles. The Devon region
South Devon is one of the most popular destinations for visitors and once you arrive it is not difficult to see why. With over 49 miles of stunning coastline, sandy beaches and rugged coves the area is perfect for those seeking a coastal break. The countryside is as breathtaking as the coastline interspersed with pretty villages and country pubs.
Just 2 miles from this beautifully wooded valley is the village of Slapton with its two pubs, shop and church. There is the long lake/lagoon of Slapton Ley nature reserve ideal for birdwathcing and the 3 mile stretch of Slapton Sands mainly pebbles, not sand, The most popular beach is Blackpool Sands, just 5 miles away (10 minutes in the car). Here you will find great facilities parking, a fantastic cafe and restuarant (The Venus Café) and watersports equipment hire.
The historic town of Dartmouth is just a 10 minute drive away and a great day out for all the family. Take a River cruise along the River Dart, explore Dartmouth castle or take the Steam Train from Kingswear up to Paignton. The town is host to many festivals throughout the year in particular the Dartmouth Regatta at the end of August. The lovely market town of Kingsbridge is also close by and has some lovely independent shops and cafes. There is also a Leisure Centre here with a 25 meter pool.
