Wonderful chalet with fabulous views over the foothills of the Julian Alps. Named after beautiful local mountain, Blegos Chalet sleeps 6-10 people and offers a high quality of accommodation. Bathroom, large kitchen-dining room, small double bedroom & living room with sofa bed are located on the ground floor. The kitchen has access onto a beautiful terrace with outdoor table & barbecue area & lovely garden overlooking the views. On the 1st floor is the main living room with sofa bed, double bedroom with en suite bathroom & 2 single bedrooms. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player, satellite TV & internet.
The chalet is located in the hills above the charming medieval town of Skofja Loka (20 mins drive), just 45 mins from Slovenia's pretty capital Ljubljana and 45 mins to world famous Lake Bled. The area offers excellent potential for outdoor activities such as walking & mountain biking in Summer, swimming / spa facilities in nearby Cerkno as well as excellent skiing at Stari Vrh & Cerkno in Winter (both 15 mins drive). Skiing at Krvavec & Soriska Planina 45 mins drive away. A superb place for a quiet holiday in tranquil mountain surroundings, an active holiday skiing or walking or a sightseeing holiday seeing some of Slovenia's best sites located within easy reach of the house.

The Gorenjska region
The Gorenjska region is home to Slovenia's most beautiful scenery, the stunning Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park. Famous sights include beautiful Lake Bled (a lovely lake surrounded with mountains, overlooked by a towering castle and with a pretty 17th century church on an island in the middle of the Lake), Lake Bohinj (a majestic alpine lake surounded by mountains, home to Vogel ski resort and offering scope for a huge range of outdoor activities all year round), the beautiful medieval towns of Skofja Loka and Radovljica and a huge range of beautiful natural attractions from rivers to gorges, mountains to valleys.
Skofja Loka / Dolenje Brdo area
The area surrounding Blegos Chalet comprises beautiful tranquil sub alpine and alpine scenery crisscrossed with walking trails and dotted with pretty towns and villages. Close by a two famous and relatively easy mountain walks one of them up Mount Blegos, after which the Chalet is named. The nearest amenities (shops etc) are in the small town of Gorenje Vas about 10 minutes drive away. 20 minutes away is the delightful medieval town of Skofja Loka which has a beautiful old town and lovely old castle. A great place to while away an afternoon. Ljubljana, Slovenia's charming capital is just 45 minutes away so great for a day trip. Likewise beautiful Lake Bled which is also 45 minutes by car. In the nearby town of Cerkno there are tennis and swimming facilities. There are two excellent family friendly ski resorts 15-20 minutes drive from the house, catering mainly for beginner to intermediate level skiers. The first is Cerkno which is known is Slovenia for its quality lift infrastructure, a good range of beginner / intermediate pistes, with a few harder pistes for more experienced skiers and a superb restaurant on the top of the mountain. The second is Stari Vrh which again offers a good range of beginner - intermediate slopes as well as more challenging black and red runs. It also has Slovenia's night skiing piste and a range of outstanding on-mountain restaurant options. Both resorts offer ski / equipment hire options. Further afield (circa 45 minutes drive) is the excellent resort of Krvavec, one of Slovenia's best all round ski resorts and Soriska Planina a small but charming forest resort again about 45 minutes from the house. Easy day trips can also be made to Slovenia's best known resorts at Kranjska Gora and Vogel (both are 1hr 15 mins)
