Neaum Crag is a secluded estate of individually privately owned properties at the Heart of the English Lake District and is set in 18 acres of south facing wooded hillside. Located a short walk from Skelwith Bridge in an area of complete seclusion at the foot of the Langdale Valley, where walking is literally at its very best. Yet only a few minutes drive from the restaurants, cafes and Inns of Ambleside.

Badgers Walk overlooks a small tarn in an area of complete seclusion at the foot of the Langdale valley, where walking is literally at its very best.

The breathtaking scenery in this setting has to be seen to be believed, and this little two-person paradise is an ideal place to escape and get away from it all.

This modern ground floor retreat provides a contemporary atmosphere with every comfort taken care of.

The accommodation comprises:

Sheltered entrance porch with entrance hall.

Open plan lounge/dining room with patio doors overlooking the tarn and opening onto a private patio, complete with furniture.

The well-equipped kitchen is off the living area and caters for all.

The double bedroom also has full-length patio doors overlooking the tarn and the bathroom with its Jacuzzi bath is designed to soak away any aches of the day.

The Lake District

The Langdale Valley is home to possibly one of the most well-known and well-walked mountain ranges in England. The jagged peaks of the Langdale Pikes create a spectacular skyline and provide adventurous walking and climbing opportunities. The valley itself offers fantastic low level walks for the less experienced and active visitor.

Skelwith Bridge

There are a number of picturesque hamlets dotted throughout the valley including Little and Great Langdale, Elterwater and Chapel Stile each boasting an inviting, traditional inn serving hearty homemade fare and local real ale. At the head of the valley is Blea Tarn. Stone built Blea Tarn House, dating from the 1600s, sits nearby and was the inspiration for a Wordsworth poem.

"Peace in the forest."

"Lovely, cosy little hideaway."

After finding Badgers Walk online, viewing the photos and comments, and thinking what great value for money, we booked a 2 night stay for January.
We had very limited knowledge of the Lakes, and took a gamble on Ambleside. However, we're glad we did as it's a great base for a relaxing weekend. We're not avid walkers, and being Winter it rained for our time there, but we enjoyed a walk to the waterfall, and strolls around town.
We hope to return to Badgers Walk in the summer to make the most of the local walks,beautiful view from the cottage's patio, and utilize the swimming pool which was closed in January.
