"Home away from home"

We were 5 persons from 3 generations and we all loved the cottage and the town. We were met with fresh flowers, warm rooms and milk and teabags to make a nice cuppa. Neat and clean, fresh bedding and towels on beds. Carl was more than happy to help when we needed help connecting to internet. Chapel was a quite little place but with such friendly and open people. The beach was a short walk from home, and it was only minutes to drive to Butlins and Skeggness. The cottage was a home away from home, and we will definatly come back. Thank you, Carl :-)

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review, you have been wonderful guests and i'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay & holiday in the UK, We look forward to being of service again to you & your family in the future

"Sunshine at Sunshine Cottage"

We booked a 2 night short break at Sunshine Cottage in Chapel St Leonards for us and our 2 dogs.
We arrived at 3.30, the bungalow was very easy to find and only 5 minutes walk on the flat from the centre of Chapel.
The bungalow was clean and there were flowers on the table to greet us and a pint of milk in the fridge, very thoughtful.
The gardens are immaculate and I didn't like to let the dogs on them, but they loved it.
We ate out and didn't use any of the kitchen facilities though everything was there including a washing machine.
A great place to stay if you have furry friends.

Thank you for your kind review, It was our pleasure having you as guests at Sunshine cottage and we look forward to being of service again in the future

"Just the ticket"

With a dog to consider, we favour cottage holidays and always try to find somewhere which will give the pooch a holiday as well.
The choice can still prove a bit pot luck and often disappointing in one way or another, but despite our booking at Sunshine Cottage being a last minute decision it proved to be superb.
The owner got back to me the same day I made my initial enquiry, and we were able to sort out all the details with a couple of e-mails and a phone call.
When we arrived at the cottage it was found to be clean and well prepared for us, and just as depicted. Everything we needed was provided, with a fresh pint of milk in the fridge for our arrival. Even the dog had been considered with a couple of bowls provided and a barrel of biscuit treats in the kitchen.
The large well kept rear garden area was found to be fully enclosed with a convenient side access gate yet no possibility of the dog escaping, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our time in the cottage.
As a couple we had space to spread using just the master bedroom with both the lounge and kitchen dining room having ample space to accommodate six people as advertised. Although this is a dormer bungalow which by definition should be les spacious upstairs, the master bedroom had an almost walk in size wardrobe built into the eves. This proved to be a bonus, with ample space to hang every garment with enough space below for bags, shoes and whatever else other members of a group would needed to stow. Drawer sets were in the other twin rooms, with adequate of space for holiday clothing.
The fact that there was a bathroom/toilet downstairs was a luxury we don't have at home but I found this such a bonus its now on my own house search essential list. Likewise the lovely rock tile floor which spreads throughout the lower level. A totally practical flooring but of a quality which added to the overall appearance of the house.
The oil fired central heating was a first for me too, but worked faultlessly, keeping us nice and warm during the evenings. Despite our booking being for the last few days of October we were warm enough without heating during the day given the modern build of the property, with the "stove style" electric fire proving ideal whilst enjoying my first cuppa before the early trip to beach.
Being a caterer by trade I'm usually very critical of domestic kitchens, but in this instance the kitchen proved very well laid out, with plenty of cupboard space and adequately equipped for six, with everything functioning as it should. A large upright fridge freezer was very welcome as it's very often absent in the smaller cottages and a bit problematic if the area has no local shop. The dining area also had ample space to move around the large country style dining table set to seat six.
The dedicated parking area right in front of the cottage was also a great advantage allowing unloading to front or back entrances without encroaching on any of the neighbours' space.
Because of work commitments we were only in residence for about five days, and did not use all the available equipment/ facilities such as the wi fi or washer dryer, but would be confident that everything works well as it all looks very new in keeping with the rest of the fittings.
You just feel that this owner aims to please leaving his contact number should you need him, and a notepad to report daily, any problems to the cleaner.
I would imagine in the summer months that this cottage would prove great for a family holiday or equally a quiet break. It has a surprising amount of space downstairs, and the bonus of patio doors leading to the outside seating and the beautifully kept garden with extensive lawn. Any potential dangers for small children, such as the fish pond and the central heating fuel tank have safely been fenced off.
The location is within five minutes walk of a good freindly pub and local shop, with Chapel Village about 10 minutes away, which is close enough without being intrusive.
Drive a few minutes north east toward Chapel Point and there are numerous small car parking spots adjacent to the dunes which will no doubt be busy in summer, but at 6.30 on an October morning the mile on mile of empty beach was just the ticket.

Thank you for your lovely comments and for taking the time to review the cottage. We are so pleased you had an enjoyable stay and look forward to being of service in the future.
