The South East England region

South east England is the warmest and driest region of England. There are many attractions to visit with historic buildings, traditional seaside resorts and beautiful countryside.

Sittingbourne has very little to offer visitors as a tourist destination in it's own right. The town is dominated by light industry and is renowned for it's paper making. However, there is attractive countryside and farmland all around with many pretty country villages dotted about. Sittingbourne is also a very convenient base for visitors to Kent with some of the county's main attractions within 30 minutes drive or train journey from the town. These include Canterbury, Leeds Castle, Howlett's Wildlife Park and Dickens World. There are blue flag beaches nearby on the Isle of Sheppey, approximately 15 minutes away by car.

Trains run every 30 minutes from Sittingbourne to London Victoria and St.Pancras stations with a journey time of 1 hour. In the opposite direction, trains run every 30 minutes to Canterbury, Dover and the Kent coastal towns such as Broadstairs.

La location est bien située à 50 minutes de Londres (losqu'il n'y a pas d'embouteillages) et est dans un quartier calme.Tout est fonctionnel et Duncan est prêt à répondre aux quest… More

Thankyou for taking the time to review your stay in the Victorian house.
I'm sorry that you were not warm enough in the property at times during your stay. The heating is easily controllable for the time its on and for the temperature. If you were unsure how to change the settings, you only had to contact me to ask.
I did call round to the house on one occasion during your stay to drop off clean laundry and towels. I did knock on the door several times and call out when I went in and there was no response. I therefore assumed that no one was in. Obviously your son had not heard me because he was upstairs in the back bedroom. I apologise if I surprised him but I do need to get into the house on occasions during the rental period.
I hope that your overall impression of the house was a good one and that you feel it offered value for money.

"Everything yo need"

I had a short term contract in Sittingbourne and was looking for a hotel for me and two work colleagues on when his house came up.

It worked out about £40 per night which was very reasonable for three, especially with a room each.

I would highly recommend the property if you had to stop in Sittingbourne. It was immaculately clean and had everything provided, free wifi, even tea, coffee and milk in the fridge.

The house is walking distance from the town and parking was easy enough.

"Good alternative to motel/hotel"

Decided to try the house to rent rather than stay in hotel. We knew we would be out a lot so really only needed a place to lay our heads. Due to change of dates for family getting together I had to cancel booking and re book, no problem, easy to do on line. House clean with no fussy nick-nacks. Owner met us at house and showed us around and gave us keys. Any problems we could call him. I had taken washing up liquid etc but no need. Dishwasher tablets, cloths etc all there. There was coffee, tea, sugar etc provided and not own brands. There was even pizza in freezer and frozen mashed potato! Could cope with downstairs bathroom but would not have suited me with small children or elderly relative as stairs steep and no handrail. Believe property next door which is rented by same gentleman has upstairs bathroom but this rented at moment to contractors. Although parking is on road we did not have problems parking car. Shops near, garage, and lovely fish and chip shop called Marinos (think that is correct spelling). Had lovely breakfast (full English - buy one get one free) at the Barn Yard. Would definitely stay there again.
