The Crete region
Sfaka in north east Crete is a mountainous region surrounded by olive groves and only ten minutes drive from the sea.Crete has a good all year round climate with July and August the hottest months.There are many Minoan,Venetian archaeological sites on the island as well as a Byzantine monastery with frescoes.
Sitia / Mochlos area
Live Greek music twice a week at Mochlos,Weekly outdoor markets at Sitia,Agios Nikolaos,Irepetra.Jeep safaris,sailing,canoeing, Easter is the highlight of the Greek calendar.Various festivals throughout the year.
How to get there
Cheap flights with Easyjet,Olympic,Thomas Cook all fly direct to Heraklion airport during the summer season.
Car hire is advised but coaches,buses and taxis are available outside. The journey to Sfaka is about ninety minutes.
Domestic flights from Athens to Sitia take 45mins,bus,car,taxi to Sfaka 45mins.
Ferry from Athens to Heraklion and Sitia also available.
Airport pick-ups can be arranged.

The guests sharing the full fascilities of the upstairs suite, connected by an outside staircase. It is adjacent to the pool which is for private use only.
