The Crete region
Sitia is an old Venetian town. it has a long mainly sandy Blue Flag beach. It has a small domestic airport harbour and ferry port. Lovely restaurants are around the harbour and within and around the town. It is a working town and is open all year round. The area is ideal for beach holidays with a wide range of additional lovely beaches available within a 20 mins drive. A quiet and unspoilt area.
Sitia area
The taverna across the road serves traditional Greek and Cretan food and is conveniently located. There are several local tavernas nearby, some are a very short drive by car - some having live Greek music. This is an unspoilt part of Crete, 1 km to the main town of Sitia. A short 80m walk to the beach and a 5-10 minute walk to the unspoilt 'Blue Flag' stony/sandy beach. Discover at least 10 lovely beaches within a 20 minute drive of our apartment - ideal for lunch in a beach side taverna or picnic on the beach. In the nearby town of Sitia there is a lovely harbour with waterside restaurants - very pretty at night.
Watersports and fishing. Good for walking holidays, winter sun, good nightlife.
How to get there
Flights available from Heathrow, Gatwick, Bristol, Glasgow, Cardiff etc to Heraklion in Crete. Flights are also available to Sitia airport.
- Cheap flights can be obtained from: www.ba.com, www.dialaflight.com, www.olympic-airways.com and many charter airlines during the holiday season.
- Buses go direct regularly from Heraklion airport to Sitia Town. Transfer time by car is 2 hours. Transfer time by bus is over 3 hours.Transfer time from Sitia airport to property is 10 minutes.
- Taxi from Heraklion to Sitia is available for 100 Euro's. Transfer time 2 hours.
- Flights from Heathrow via Athens direct to Sitia.
- Taxi from Sitia airport to accommodation is available for only 5 Euro's, approximately 5 minutes from accommodation.
-Ferry docks at Sitia daily in holiday season.

The main bedroom has a double bed and has views of the hillside. The apartment is simply furnished. ideal to relax and use as a base to explore this unsploit part of Eastern Crete.
Further details outdoors: In the small garden there is a large purpose built BBQ ideal for those lovely evenings relaxing. The apartment is in a quiet peaceful location which includes the ancient ruins of town of Tripitos. In the nearby village of Agia Fotia are several simple yet delightful tavernas with sea views. In the town of Sitia there's a wealth of restaurants, tavernas and bars around the pretty and bustling harbour. There are plenty of shops and several supermarkets. Discover the villages and unspoilt beaches with tavernas serving fresh fish caught everyday.
