The Lassithi Prefecture region
Eastern Crete is one of the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean. A friendly place with breathtaking beaches and a long history, strewn with monuments going back as far as 2500 BC, such as the Minoan palace of Zakros, whose main buildings survive to this day. A charming area surrounded by ecosystems of amazing beauty.Sitia, the town of poets, Aghios Nikolaos with its beautiful lake, Ierapetra, the "princess of the Libyan Sea" and the various charming villages are favourite destinations for your excursions. The plateau of Lasithi with its windmills and the Dikteon Andron, the cave where Zeus, father of the gods, was born, according to myth, are challenges for endless exploration.
DIONISOS is next to an unspoiled area of 6,000 acres with the Byzantine monastery of Toplou, the ancient city of Itanos, which has sunk under the sea, and the only natural palm forest in Europe - Vai!
Gorges, islets, canes as well as olive groves and vineyards make up the immediate surroundings of DIONISOS.
And if you wish to wander further off, the Minoan palaces of Knossos and Phaestos, the wondrous natural beauty of the Samaria Gorge and the whole of Crete are there for you!
