Villa Dovecote is located two minutes from the beaches on the outskirts of the fishing village of Sissi, which has remained unspoilt. Quiet and peaceful, yet only fifteen minutes from larger resorts, the apartment has easy access to all amenities and many excellent restaurants for eating out.

The ground floor, self catering apartment benefits from the private pool with it's stunning views. The apartment is well equipped and spacious, catering for your every need.

The Crete region

Crete is not a large island being 250km long and just 12km across at its narrowest point. Many examples of the Minoan civilisation are to be found, and Knossos is well worth a visit. Also a visit to the Lasithi Plateau at 950m above sea level, the birthplace of Zeus, to see the legendary white-sailed wind pumps. Kritsa near Agios Nikolaos stands for all that is best and most typical of village life. Elounda and Spinalonga(the former leper colony) show off the beauty of the island, Mochos with the traditional Greek dancing in the square while you eat dinner of Lasithi Lamb,Arvi on the South coast where commercialisation is unknown, and so many more delightful places still to be uncovered.

Sissi area

Sissi is a small fishing village situated on the North coast. The village offers various shops, bakers, butchers, supermarkets, hairdresser, and laundry plus a selection of wonderful restaurants and tavernas, and numerous bars.
The island is steeped in history, and many places are within easy reach. Heraklion is a 30 minute drive to the East and to the West the elegant town of Agios Nikoloas is a 20 minute drive. From June through to September you can enjoy the beautiful hot sunny days with clear blue skies and azure sea water. Sports facilities, horse riding, walking,dancing,cycling, golf, water parks,museums,archeological sites, fishing, boating,jeep safaris and of course, shopping are all available.

How to get there

Book Flight-only on the many charter airlines to Heraklion or book with Easyjet on their schedule service.Also, Direct Flight.com are excellent at finding seats on planes.The airport is 24 miles to the west of the property and will take 30 minutes to drive. The owners can book you a holiday car which will include pick-up at the airport on arrival and drop-off on departure.All cars are of premium standard and come with full comprehensive insurance, and breakdown policy. Prices have been negotiated in advance for the season.

4. Strictly no smoking inside the apartment.
5. Hire of highchair and cot per week 10 euros.
