The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The Dordogne is one of the most beautiful regions in France and "the Perigord Noir", which was named from the black truffles and walnuts found here, is in the triangle formed by the two rivers: the Vézère and the Dordogne.This area is well kown for its concentration of historical sites and gardens, its many castles and chateaux and untampered villages and small towns, where weekly markets take place.
The "Périgord Noir "is also famous for its gastronomy. The region has many specialities such as duck and goose dishes and of course its "foie gras".Truffles, cepes and walnuts are often part of the menu too and the numerous vineyards in the area offer many opportunities for winetasting.
Siorac-en-Perigord area
Siorac-en-Périgord is a quiet village, situated along the river Dordogne. It has all the necessary shops, markets, bakers, restaurants, Post Office etc. As well as fishing, swimming, canoeing there is also a golf course nearby and of course, the area is rich of historical and architectural places to visit.
How to get there
Access by direct flight from London to Bergerac airport (www.ryanair .com) then 35 miles car drive to Siorac.
Access by motorway. A20 approx. 300 miles then 50 miles to Siorac.
Access by train ( www.sncf.com) Paris to Bergerac then 35 miles car drive.

On the second floor are three bedrooms all with queen sized beds and tasteful en suite bathrooms with toilets. Two extra double bedrooms are found on the third floor, bathroom and toilets.
