Casa do Caseiro have one bedroom (sleeps 2) (1 more in the sofa bed in living room and 1 cot) only a short 10 minute drive from Sintra Unesco World Heritage site.
Built in 1945, it was originally designed as living quarters for the house and grounds keepers of the larger country house next door.
Now in a small village setting, the property still maintains a rural feel thanks to its 2000sq meters of grounds which include Portuguese calcada paved gardens, a swimming pool, wind powered well, outbuildings, a well kept lawn and a small orchard and veggie patch.
Casa do Caseiro has its own separate entrance, car parking space, roof terrace and decking area by the pool.

In the 19th century Sintra became the first centre of European Romantic architecture Ferdinand II turned a ruined monastery into a castle where this new sensitivity was displayed in the use of Gothic, Egyptian, Moorish and Renaissance elements and in the creation of a park blending local and exotic species of trees.

Near by we have the national air club is called AeroClube de Portugal (http://www.aecp.pt) that operate gliders in Sintra (7Km) is mainly used for basic training and sightseeing flights you can see Sintra from the sky.
A little bit further (100Km 1h15 Minutes by Car) we have balloon flights, what can be nicer than floating like a gracious bird over towns and fields on a fantastic day with your family or friends, or just on your own with other passengers? There is a wide variety of take-off spots in the centre of Portugal.
But If you prefer bright sand and clean water and the most beautiful sunset of Europe, you will love Guincho Beach is fabulous for Kite Surf Surf and Wind Surf, The beach is very deep and wide and there is lots of free space at the beach (25km, 30Minutes by car).
We have The Golf Belas Clube de Campo (7Km 10Minutes by car) for golf players.
If you prefer wild nature The Berlenga Nature Reserve is a unique place due to its transparent sea and underwater treasures.
It is a marine reserve and has been classified by the Council of Europe as a "Biosphere Reserve". The archipelago consists of a large island, Berlenga Grande, and some small granite islands and rocks (Estelas and Farilhões), which are situated some 7 miles off the headland of Cabo Carvoeiro to the north-west of Peniche.
The island of Berlenga Grande can be seen from the mainland when there is no sea mist. Here you will find endemic species of flora, as well as one of the preferred nesting sites for sea birds.
Built on a rock adjacent to the Berlenga island and connected to it by a small bridge, there stands the Forte de São João Baptista, a Manueline military fortress built in 1502. The island’s tiny beaches with their clear blue sea are very beautiful and ideal for swimming and diving.
Access to the island is by boat, with departures from Peniche harbour. It takes roughly 30 minutes to reach Berlenga Grande. You can return in the evening or spend the night at the fortress. There is also a restaurant on the island. from Casa do Caseiro it is about 113Km 1h 30m distance by car and more 30 minutes for the boat.

How to get there
Fly to Lisbon with TAP Air Portugal, BA or Easy Jet from all major UK airports. Hire a Car at airport for a 30min motorway drive to Sintra. Also easy motorway drive from either Faro - 300kms (Monarch Airlines) or Porto - 360kms (Ryanair).
